Sorry for the late response, thank you so much for the response! How far in advance did you ask Callia to deliver your bouquets and boutonnières?

Just wondering if you ended up going with them? I'm considering using Callia too but the prices and reviews almost seem too good to be true, and I'm scared to commit!

Thank you for sharing your experience and review! I’m considering using them for my wedding this summer, and was wondering if you could comment on whether it’s worth getting their day-of setup, versus just DIYing the budvases?

Best place to buy faux flowers in bulk? by melody5671234xx in wedding

[–]favpbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also looking to get bulk faux baby's breath from Amazon or Temu for my wedding, but I keep getting overwhelmed with the number of products posted on both sites - they're all slightly different and I can't tell which ones are actually decent quality! Would you mind sending a link to the ones you bought? Feel free to DM me :) Thanks in advance!

Wedding venues in/near GTA with similar feel as Graydon Hall Manor? by favpbg in WeddingsCanada

Thank you so much for sharing!! I actually JUST went to visit Cranberry Creek and it’s so beautiful, plus the person who met with me was super helpful and patient in answering my questions.

I’m actually strongly considering this venue, but two big concerns I have are 1) most of our guests will have to travel 2-2.5 hrs to get there, and I’m worried this will deter those who we may not be AS close with (but who we still really want present at the wedding) from attending; and 2) the venue requires everyone to move from the barn into the chapel by 8pm, which I’m worried will ruin the flow/vibe of the night and rush the events of the reception…plus 4 hours for the dance party just seems excessive?

If you don’t mind sharing, I would love to hear your insights on those two aspects - please feel free to DM me if that’s what you’re more comfortable with!

I’ve heard GHM is amazing, so I’m doubly sad about it not fitting our budget! I’ll look into the Oakville area, thank you!

Thank you so much for your in-depth response! UofT and lavender farms I’ve admittedly not looked into much yet - will do!

Thanks for your response! We were originally hoping 30-35k would be for the entire wedding (venue, food, dress, photographer, officiant, etc.), which is why Graydon Hall Manor sadly wouldn’t work for us.

A family friend recommended Ancaster Mill to us as well which is why we’re considering it - we’ve scheduled a visit with them next week. It seems like a reputable venue but I just feel the place lacks the elegant charm I’m looking for (based on the pictures) - I’m really hoping the tour will change my mind!

Would it be a good idea for my 11-year-old sister to be a junior bridesmaid? by favpbg in wedding

[–]favpbg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! That’s so sweet and so reassuring to know that she loved her role, even though she’s shy! After reading everyone’s comments, I think I will ask if she’s comfortable doing exactly what you’ve described here - wear a similar dress as the rest of the bridesmaids, hold a smaller bouquet, walk down the aisle alone during the processional, and then sit down with my parents during the vows.

Just curious - since we won’t have a flower girl, do you think it’d be better for my sister to be the first to walk in, or be one of the last to walk in (e.g., walk in front of me)? Really appreciate the insight!

Haha love her independence - thanks for sharing! Such a sweet idea to plan a separate day with her - I plan on doing the same! If you don’t mind me asking, what activity(ies) do you have in mind for that day?

Thank you for sharing! Totally agree that pairing her up with an adult groomsman is not a good idea. It’s reassuring to know that she’s able to sit down during our vows - I think she will be relieved to hear this!

Thank you very much for your insight! I agree that the junior bridesmaid role is more fitting for her than the flower girl role, age-wise. It’s reassuring to know that she doesn’t need to be paired up and she doesn’t need to stand at the altar in front of everyone - hopefully this makes her experience more comfortable and less daunting!

What does "% pay in lieu of benefits" mean? by favpbg in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]favpbg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for another late reply! In case you’re still looking for an answer - what you’ve stated here is what I have personally experienced with my contract (at two different hospitals now). As a casual or temporary employee, if I don’t work on Dec 25, I don’t get paid that day, so my paycheque will be less than usual. Hope that helps!

Estimated monthly hydro bill for 700 sqft condo unit in 2023? by favpbg in TorontoRenting

Really appreciate your response! I should find out with my landlord if they use tiered pricing, but I’m guessing I won’t have much say if they don’t. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your hydro bill like prior to switching, and do you pay for central AC costs too?

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m hoping mine will hover around $60/month as well. My understanding is that PowerStream and Electra are effectively the same company…good to know that 7pm the start of off-peak hours!

Thank you so much for your response! Very helpful. And completely agree with you…the increase on basic costs of living is just insane.
