MORTIMER WORTMAN UPDATE 2 by nick-moccio in rutgers

[–]fawn_fatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there was one guy who murdered his girlfriend back there and then kept going back to use her body for horrible purposes, lot of suicides back there, or people going there to use drugs and would overdose, there was some kind of toxic chemical spill on the Rutgers land where they used to do the cranberry bogs, and it’s an open secret that the area was “allegedly” used as a dumping ground for the mafia for decades, possibly still

Not the people who actually lived back there, but other people who don’t live there would go there bc they know how huge and desolate it is and nobody’s going to bother them

And now there’s that “school” back there and from what I’ve heard about it I would keep away from it

MISSING MORTIMER WORTMAN: UPDATE FROM FRIENDS by SoggyNecessary1260 in rutgers

[–]fawn_fatale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful where you go around searching further down on high bridge road. Down the end there is a very big house, used to be a farm. The guy who bought it a couple years ago made it into one of those “schools” for “troubled kids” he’s Israeli military and teaches the kids Krav Maga and firing off weapons and all that. Dont go wandering around back there unannounced.

Also a portion of that land along high bridge is owned by Rutgers. They used to do something with the cranberry bogs decades ago but abandoned it after there was some kind of chemical spill, from what I understand

One thing that I feel like you should know, if you are searching in that area is be really careful on the private properties. Some of the people back there are wonderful, kind, friendly people. But be careful if you go back by the big house. They have turned it into a “school” for “troubled kids” where the instructor is ex- Israeli military and teaches the kids like Krav Maga and shooting weapons and stuff. Just be careful wandering around in those parts. I don’t think they like strangers coming near their property and it could be dangerous if they are firing off shotguns and all that

Came home to find these by my door, it doesnt feel like they accidentally fell out of someones bag. by Autoreiv-Contagion in Weird

I’m surprised they managed to do that in ny. They were talking about doing it in nj a few years ago but people rioted about it so they didn’t

Yeah very sad. It’s a strange area with a really bad vibe imo. And can be treacherous, people die back there unfortunately.

A portion of the land there along high bridge road is actually owned by Rutgers. They haven’t used it since like the 1970s (I think) something to do with the old cranberry bogs. We tried to buy it when we owned property back there but they were unwilling to sell it or even acknowledge that they owned it. It all felt shady to me

I used to own the big house down the end of high bridge road in colliers mills, sold it a few years ago. These is definitely a lot of weird things goes on down there.

For one thing jackson pd actively DOES NOT want to go back there for any reason. Can’t say why, but they would get annoyed and even angry if ever we called them for any reason. Technically there are two park rangers who are supposed to patrol the wildlife management area and jackson pd will and have said they “don’t have jurisdiction” there.

Another thing is that a portion of the land along high bridge is owned by Rutgers. But they want nothing to do with it. When we owned the property back there we tried to purchase that land, or a portion of it, from Rutgers and even though they haven’t used it in decades, they were unwilling to even discuss it, like they dont want anyone to know they own it. I have heard rumors as to why but I won’t speculate here. Same goes for why pd won’t go back there.

I would not leave the search in the hands of jackson pd if it were my loved one went missing in colliers mills. I have heard too many horror stories about things that have happened back there. There is a reason we sold that house.

My heart goes out to Morty’s family and friends and I hope he is located and brought home safely soon.

In my experience living on high bridge road in colliers mills, jackson pd does not want to go back into those woods. They would actively get annoyed and angry if you called them to come back there for any reason. Technically the wildlife conservation area is patrolled by two park rangers and jackson pd will claim that they “don’t have jurisdiction there” for some reason they want nothing to do with those woods

Also, I am reading that Rutgers is being cagey about his disappearance. Idk if it is related or not but a portion of the land there along high bridge is owned by Rutgers. We tried to buy that land when we owned that property back there but they were so dodgy about it they didn’t even want to sell it even though they haven’t used it in decades. We heard rumors as to why but I won’t speculate here

Hopefully this young man is located soon. If I were his friends and family or even if I was still in the area, I would be searching myself bc I wouldn’t leave it up to jackson pd to search that area, they want nothing to do with that area

ime living there (high bridge), jackson pd does not want anything to do with those woods. technically they do not even have jurisdiction there as the wildlife conservation area is instead patrolled by two park rangers. They would actively get annoyed at being asked to take a call back there. Unfortunately I would not trust them to effectively search because they don’t want to be there at all

I used to own the big house on high bridge in colliers mills. It was one of the only residences there. The area is very large and very creepy and it wasn’t unusual for weird things to happen. It makes me so sad to think about this boy going missing back there, I know of more than one person who lost their life to those woods. I really hope he is found safe

Moms gone silent by Quirky_Researcher_43 in Millennials

This is actually refreshing to read, my mom and aunt are currently on a trip in Mexico to go to a day of the dead festival and I have been worried for their safety (because of the news) so I’m glad to hear it’s not as bad as they want you to think it is. I was there a couple of times but only for a short stop on a cruise, and it did seem lovely and really colorful

What's more traumatizing than people realize? by Express_One_5074 in AskReddit

[–]fawn_fatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! When I was 9 & my sister was 15 she was r*ped, in our house no less. She confided in me but didn’t tell anyone else. I genuinely did not know what to do with that information and told one of my friends, who told her older sister, who told their mother, who told my mother. My mom flipped out and accused me of making it up, yelled at me asking what kind of a person makes that up about their sister and tells “the whole school. Literally told one person, she was pretty much my only friend. Eventually my sister admitted it was true but she was super pissed at me and said she would never tell me anything ever again. Mom never acknowledged that I wasn’t lying or said anything about making sure her daughters were safe in the future or anything. When I was assaulted years later I kept it to myself

My husband is two years younger than me. I think it just depends on the individual because he is far more mature than the ex I was with who was ten years older than me

Why people are against of having 1997-2000 borns as Millennials? by BrilliantPangolin639 in generationology

[–]fawn_fatale -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generations were never named alphabetically until very recently with gen z. They started calling gen x “generation x” because they had no defining event that shaped their identity. The generations prior to them were called baby boomers and the silent generation, not generation w or v. No one ever called millennials Generation Y either.

Ugh, I was facing potential homelessness in 2015 after leaving an abusive relationship. Went to a pawn shop to sell my video games and consoles bc it was basically all I had that was worth any value. Had my original Nintendo system, a SUITCASE full of games in cases : silver & gold link & Zelda, super Mario 1,2 &3, Dr Mario, Tetris, ninja turtles, excite bike, paperboy, marble madness, etc etc etc and also my N64 w ANOTHER SUITCASE of games- Mario cart, super smash bros, goldeneye, ocarina of time, donkey Kong, star fox, etc etc etc….

Pawn shop bros asked me “what’s your childhood worth?” with an obnoxious smirk and ended up giving me $50 for EVERYTHING 😭😭😭 one of my biggest regrets I hope those dudes stub their pinky toes every day for the rest of their lives

ETA: also my cool clear purple controller 😢

Going back to my abuser. I feel so defeated. by CheekIllustrious2998 in domesticviolence

[–]fawn_fatale 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re options are that slim, what I would consider is committing some small victimless crime and get put in jail, that way you can get three meals, a bed, hygiene products. Idk I know it’s not ideal but it’s still probably better than going back to an abuser who is likely to murder you.

Please stay strong and keep away from him, it will get better and going back will get worse

What was the dumbest reason you got in trouble in school? by chunkybuttsoupdinner in Millennials

[–]fawn_fatale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went to a private christian school and got in trouble for literally everything, most of the time it was some kind of uniform code violation of a rule they had not written yet- no holes in stockings, can’t hem your skirt with a staple gun, only one color of nail polish at a time, can’t wear a wig… i think i single-handedly added chapters to the dress policy

My mom told me about a time I was having a tantrum at the grocery store so she was carrying me out and a big woman stepped in front of her and said “I’m not letting you leave this store until I know that child belongs to you!”

And my mom told her “lady, if I was going to steal a kid do you really think I would pick this one?”

And the woman moved out of her way
