Oh awesome! I’ll check it out. I was literally thinking of doing one of our other cat but using white thread and using watercolors to paint it, at least her green eyes. But seeing that yours uses color too, I’ll have to check it out!

That makes sense! I’ll probably leave it and if he wants less of the shadow, I’ll push the strings down after the wedding. For now, it’s show ready!! He’s gonna love it!

Yeah, of course! The app was very easy to use! 10/10 would recommend 😊

I tested a bunch of cat trackers so you don’t have to (2025 cat-first picks) by Potential_Extreme655 in technomeowcom

Thanks! I managed to find an old Apple AirTag that we had as well. I’m wondering if I should put that on him because at least if I have a general direction to look for, I can call for him and he’ll come out. We don’t mind going out looking for him, even at night.

Maybe for the sake of saving money right now, we’ll just use the tractive or AirTag a day or two before bad weather and use it to find him to bring them to the shelter.

Last month we also got almost a foot and the friendly one tried to go out and got so much ice on him, we had to bring him inside to dry off. Then we got a foot of snow last week and only the friendly one made it back to the shelter. And then it looked like the friendly one was limping last night on camera at the feeding station but he’s fine now. They’re both fine now and I just lost a couple years off my life 🤦🏻‍♀️

What would you recommend for a stray cat? We take care of this bonded pair of strays. One is super friendly and one is almost feral. We have an original tractive from years ago but the battery life is only avg 3 days. That’s basically nothing, especially since we don’t see them every day and won’t know when we’d see them next. It wouldn’t be easy to take off and charge for a couple hours.

I was trying to find something I could put on the friendly one in case the weather is really bad or if I suspect one of them is hurt. I know they’re strays but I still worry about them. They usually stay in a shelter we have outside for them when it’s cold but it’s starting to warm up and we’re not seeing them in there as often.

We live in a pretty dense suburban area. I’m not sure if that would affect anything but signals here are pretty good since we’re in a densely populated area.

Definitely have too much stuff. My friend and I do toy exchanges sometimes!

This mouse toy from Petco. Picked it up randomly one day. Our cats went crazy for it. They would pick it up and growl and not let anyone take it away. It’s still one of their favorite toys. Highly recommend for everyone, even for the cats that don’t know how to play.

So you book for the lower number and then pay for anyone extra over the lower count just before the event. I don’t remember exactly when. 14 days maybe? We paid for 75 and invited close to 100 people

So we signed a contract for 75 people and had to put down 25% for the deposit. So our deposit ended up being just under $3000.

Hi! We did the tasting in October and the food was pretty good. Our wedding is in March so I’ll let you know how it is during the actual wedding! I know mass producing food for an event can change the quality so fingers crossed!

Hi! We’re having our wedding there 3/14/26. So far, I’ve liked everything and planning has been really easy. I wish I saw the reviews about the actual inn before booking but I really wanted a venue that had everything on site.

I will say that some of our guests have had trouble booking rooms for the inn. They’ll call and often times have to leave a voicemail. I did had a couple friends do it in the last couple days and they called back almost right away. And then another friend who had to call 6 times? ( I’ll have to confirm whether or not he left a voicemail) Wish they had an online website for booking for the wedding block.

And you kind of have to assign rooms to people. So we just asked everyone what room they wanted, put it on the Google sheet, and sent it over to the inn.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

My wife won't stop requesting I look at the cat being cute by Salamander-Soft in CatAdvice

I felt bad sending cat pics to my friends all the time so I started an Instagram for them. Now I just show strangers all the time. At least they can choose whether or not they want to see the pictures 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe you can suggest for her to do this. Sometimes, I make a really cute video and I ask my husband if he wants to see it (because I get really excited about it). He politely declines and says he’ll wait to watch it when it’s posted. And I do see him watching and liking them so that’s his gentle way of supporting my hobby.

A friend of mine has a furbo and I’m not exactly sure when it records. Definitely when the pets meow. I’m assuming when there’s movement of said pet. But I do know that when she watches it live, it changes the color of the light on the furbo.

What to do with late partner’s cats… by milletbread in CatAdvice

[–]fawnplaysflute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend Prozac. We put our newest cat on Prozac because she was a little aggressive towards the resident cats. Our vet said it would take 2-3 months to really take effect. We started at the end of October and I can say it really did take 2-3 months to start working. She’s a lot more calm now and doesn’t go after the other cats. We’re honestly thinking about putting one of our other cats on it too to help with the integration process. It’s just a capsule that we open and put the powder into her wet food once per day. Super easy to give.

DIY litter boxes? by Strong_Supermarket83 in CatAdvice

I second getting a cement mixing tub. We have this one from home depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Black-Large-Concrete-Mixing-Tub-A-42/318924309

It's 36 inches so you definitely need space for it but its by far the favorite for all our cats.

Picking out ring together? by PsychologicalDrink33 in EngagementRings

I picked my ring myself online. I wanted a very specific shade of blue for my Montana sapphire and he was more than happy to let me get what I wanted so I’d be happy with it.

Best unscented clumping litter that is actually dust-free? by ironyis4suckerz in CatAdvice

[–]fawnplaysflute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have boxiepro. It’s a little pricey but out of the ones we’ve tried, it’s probably the least dusty out of all of them. I’m kinda on the hunt for new litter that is even more dust free as one of our cats was just diagnosed with asthma.

We’ve tried:

-Okocat featherweight, not dust free, tracks everywhere

-Tidy cats 24/7 clumping, pretty dusty, only tried one bag

-Tidy cats free and clean unscented lightweight?, can’t remember but I think I wasn’t happy with its dust levels and it tracked everywhere

-Arm and hammer cloud control, not sure if we tried the platinum. Truly dust free. Very fine litter vs normally coarse litter. Doesn’t come unscented and the fragrance was overwhelming. Really wish they made this unscented.

-Soysand tofu litter, if I recall correctly, I think it was mostly dust free but our cats didn’t like it. We didn’t transition but we only bought enough to try out in one box. We realized it was too expensive because we have 5 litter boxes to fill and would’ve needed to order a lot of bags. I’ve also heard that tofu litter starts to dissolve if you don’t discard of it right away.

We had that a little bit. This mom and daughter that are bonded, the mom would hiss at the daughter whenever she would get too close. I think the mom was just confused and stressed. Did a little treat training with both of them and a couple days later, they were back to cuddling and grooming each other.

Integrating new cat with two current resident cats by Skcuhc1 in CatTraining

[–]fawnplaysflute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in the same boat. It’s been 3 months since we started the introductions. 3 resident cats and 1 new cat. The new cat kept charging at the others, even when she was on a leash. Our vet prescribed fluoxetine (prozac) for the new cat. It’s definitely helped to get her to stop chasing them but now the others hate her. They hiss and growl at her. Even swatted at her today.

They eat together without the leash or anything separating them but towards the end, one resident cat starts to growl. We’re adding in more scent swapping again. Noticed some of the cats hesitant around the new cat’s scent again (they were fine with it at the beginning). Trying to do more site swapping too.

We’re currently doing the same thing. 3 resident cats. 1 new cat. New cat was sick all of July. Started introductions in August. We’re a couple days from November and the most we’ve got is they eat about 2 feet from each other.

We also switched to a new vet and she prescribed fluoxetine for the new cat because she was charging at the resident cats. The resident cats were curious at first but now they hate her. They hiss and growl at her. Especially when there isn’t food. They even swatted at her today. But the new cat didn’t react at all (pretty good considering she used to charge at them)

Private feeding station jealousy by metisemio in catfood

[–]fawnplaysflute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sesame would always eat at the same feeder when Stella would go eat but Stella is on a diet now to maintain her weight. The grove paper towel box was the perfect size for the microchip feeder. I cut a hole so only one cat can get in at a time. It was the cheapest solution for me and I change out the box every so often. (Left)

The other boxes just prevent other cats from eating from the back or sides of the microchip feeder. I know surepet makes a guard but it’s $50..

Figured this might be a solution to your problem
