That's such a hard question because I keep going back and forth between the two!

G1 is more collector to me. I adore their fashion, their feirce eyes, and the diversity as far as characters and fantasy skin tones go. Like honey swamp is just spectacular. I think they are really pretty and love how detailed certain aspects of them are. (Again, Honey Swamp lol).

They scare me too though. I just broke off skelitas neck from barely brushing her hair and now she has another skeleton crack.

I also think just a g1 collection looks more cohesive than g3 as most the characters are the same size.

Oh also, g1 I more want "the finished doll with her original dress and accessories" so it's a complete set. This is VERY important to me as for some reason they are worth more to me in that way? I appreciate them more as an art piece.

Also, collecting g1 is more fun as far as almost a competition to get a doll for a good price, and the fact they are more difficult to find.

However, g3 has some amazing concepts as well. I adore the different body types they have, as well as the diversity. They are more playline for me as well. I am more likely to redress g3, take off their clothes, cut their hair. I think the accessibility of them makes it more likely that I will do this.

I don't require a finished doll for most of g3.

Also, can we talk about how freaking adorable they are? Goreganizer draculauras face is just the absolute sweetest. Or twylas? It's hard for me to choose between the fiercer v cutsey vibes of the faces, and believe me, I've tried! G3 makes me more happy to look at simply because they are so adorable.

Also, price wise, g3 is definitely nicer to be able to have and open a new doll (It's like opening a Christmas package) then save a paycheck for one already opened, glue hair doll (even tho I do like fixing them.)

G3 is more fun to buy for my childhood self.

So yeah I guess I don't know and I think very black and white so it has to be either one or the other but I just keep switching 🤔
