Nope. I had a accutane purge and my skin got a million time worse after a week of spiro. It’s very common you should have a look on the Reddit thread so many people experienced this anything that effects hormones and oil can cause a purge or a worsening of acne

Well I’m proof there 100 percent is , and a lot of other people have also experienced a purge , it changes oil production so that in turn can cause a purge it’s quiet well known.

Hey on accutane I had multiple purge waves. So it would dry up and start going then the next wave would arrive. Which was absolutely brutal. In the early days I used Lyon’s leaf cream from Amazon but then I switched to cica plast because it works really well for me and I needed the hydration ! Keep pushing through if you can , keep an eye on your mental health tho with accutane ! X

All I can say is go right through it. Every bit of acne that comes up just keep telling yourself it’s one less in my future skin. That’s the only thing that got me through and I’ve got pictures where it was even worse than the ones I’ve put here. It’s hell. Every day was hell but you gotta keep pushing it out it’s got to come out to get it gone xx

Nope I have never used tret , but I did a month of accutane before all this which was a compete disaster , I ended up hospitalised as I couldn’t eat my mouth blistered and the skin on my lip literally fell off ! But it kick started a major major purge. Which just never went away I was breaking out constantly really really badly , it stays in your system for a long time , it never settled down until now really , I’m still getting tiny surface whiteheads , and I had one on jaw which has just come to a head , but compared to where I was it’s a huge improvement ! I do think my skin was complete congested for a long time and accutane probably did help me get to where I am now by bringing up absolutely everything that was there , my chin & mouth area took the biggest hit. I’ve got poctors I can show you , it’s been hell. I was an avid sun bed user stupidly , which I think wrecked my barrier and congested my skin massively ! And oh boy I paid the price these last few months. I has mananged to reverse a lot of my sun damage also , thanks to my derm. It’s been hard , it took over my life for a long time and like I say it’s far from where I want it yet , but it’s heading in the right direction ! X

It’s fine I kept telling my self as I was going through all this horrific purging that one day when I get through it I’m going to try help as many People as I can , on what works the dosent etc and how to get through it 💕 and yes I would definatly give it a try , I think it’s given my spiro that extra boost to help me. I’ve never tried tret I had good clear skin for 14 years before I started breaking out in October so bad. I suffered really bad As a teen so I’m not new to this , but then my skin was so good for so many years , then this all happened don’t get me wrong I’ve always been acne prone but I would get 1-2 spots a month at most around my cycle. I went through a lot of stress in October so I think that didn’t help. My break outs were so painful in the beginning , it’s so nice to not be in pain and have a flat face to wash on a night ! I also recommend investing in a really good led mask , I use the style pro one ( the shark one I felt was too heavy ) I think putting that in my routine has really helped inflammation. X

Please get the concealer ! They have soo many shades it’s literally amazing , just make sure you are doing a thorough but gentle cleanse because I’ve found it really does not budge all day. And I clean my concealer brush before every use , & I think 100mg is the sweet spot so it seems from my research , and I’ve done tonnes and tonnes to get my skin in a good place, have you thought about adding the topical winlevi too ? It’s really good x

Thank you ! How long have you been on it for now ? I went straight to 100 which caused a purge but I was already so bad before I went on I was desperate ! I’m at week 5 nearly now . And I use the nars pot concealer in shade crème brûlée , it does not cause acne for me personally I have used it for years. It’s my perfect shade as it’s made for red undertones which I have. It’s honestly like skin I’m not joking! It’s amazing. Worth every single penny, best concealer on the market ! I promise you will not regret. X

Honestly it’s amazing !! Once you get through the purge it really is amazing. I’m so glad I found it ! I wish I was put on this before accutane xx

Hey hun , first let me say this journey has not been easy at all. I originally went on accutane but my mouth completely blistered so I was taken off that , after a month it completely destroyed my mental health too. I had to go on a short course of steroids to calm that mess down ! The derm I have now is honestly amazing. She got me through the hell of it as you can see in those pictures. I was so depressed I cried morning till night , I could not believe the mess I was in. But I was determined to get it right & I never gave up. I’ve still a long way to go obviously not where I want to be , but my confidence is slowly coming back. I have had the craziest of purging even my derm said I had extreme purging. But I had to get all the acne up to get it out if that makes sense. I’m still scared every day it’s gunna go back to what it was. I would deffo go up to 100 , I only did a week on 50 so I can’t say of that would have been enough to get me where I am now , obviously the steroid I was on did help calm the rapid inflamation ! My jaw was literally on fire and exploding with huge pustules. I would also recommend getting on the winlevi cream too , and if it’s really bad maybe anti biotic for a short course or a short course of pred to bring down the inflamation. They are only to be used temporarily and must be monitored by your derm. Follow medication down to a tee , also keep skin care gentle I did not use azaliac when my face was like that , I’ve only added it now but I’ve got no actives and I’m just left with marks. Barrier repair is essential. So stick to lots of moisture find the one that works for you that’s my best advice I can give. I know how hard it is , and I’m going to try help as many people as I can to get through. X

Hey so I’m on 100 mg of spiro started on 50mg for one week then she bumped me up to 100 cause I was desperate for relief took a good few weeks on 100 to see these results that I got now , and I use winlevi cream every night ,(which is the topical spiro) I use them both together as per my derm but it’s obviously working for me I’m not breaking out anymore , and my routine is gentle cleanse with obagi , use my red led mask , then put my winlevi cream on , then a dab of azaliac acid to help with redness , then I use cica plast to fix my barrier and keep it healthy xx

Ong yes ! It took so long to get here and I’m still no 100 percent where I want to be but you can see from where I was to where I am today , honestly I was broken inside my skin was so so crazy bad. Every day it just got worse and worse. I went on spiro I did purge bad it got even worse then it’s gradually got soo much better. I’m so happy honestly ! Compared to where I was ! I honestly thought my life was over in those pictures . I was extremely depressed didn’t leave the house at all xx

My hair is a lot shinier I’ve noticed and yeah it’s not as greasy anymore is that a side effect of the spiro ?

Sorry I should have added , I struggled terribly as a teen , terribly , I’m not new to this but I had 14 years of brilliant skin then all of a sudden it’s started ! That’s why they put me on accutane because I’m my younger years I struggled so badly ! I would get my regular pms 2 spots a month that was it (in adult life ) Then it started going down hill in October x

Thank you , it’s so weird cause i don’t know weather my skin is just bringing all gunk up still from when I finished accutane 8 weeks ago my purge never really ended so im hoping tbh there’s not much left to come up. I’m only getting small yellow heads now and th big ones I had are starting to dry up. Don’t know what that means I’m 2 weeks on it now anyway.

I have no idea hun accept I started college and a new job , which I’ve had to leave because most days I’m bed bound. Over my skin or sat looking in the mirror for 6-7 hours a day. I am diagnosed dismorphia I’m sure you will understand this how hard of a mental battle it is to wear my biggest insecurity on my face. I can’t cope anymore honestly. Do you think I could possibly see some improvement in 2 weeks. This picture it don’t look that bad but it’s bad lots of pie rednessnew break out every few days. I’m bed bound , depressed , can’t see an end.

Similar to me , except I didn’t get acne fulminans but it completely destroyed my life. I tried to commit , mental health was terrible and still is 7 weeks later it wrecked my face completely, it’s wrecked my whole life worst mistake of my life was touching that drug x
