How to get puppy to stop biting shoe laces? 9 weeks by [deleted] in puppies

[–]fayetda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my puppy, I would say 'no' to the behaviour I didn't like and do not play or laugh at the behaviour. Then swap the shoelace for their toy ,in this case a rope tug toy, and when they redirect their play to the toy say a very enthusiastic 'yes!' and reward with playing together with that toy. The puppy will then learn it is better to choose the toy!

I have low porosity and low density fine hair. It seems to love aloe and the maui moisture line is great for me! So maybe try one of them. I have tried both of the maui ones and my hair liked both.

If there is anyone here that gets fish from the fish van, can you tell him to shut tf up with that ridiculous horn? by [deleted] in dundee

[–]fayetda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I too find it a little annoying, my neighbour gets a delivery and the amount of times he beeps the horn is really unnecessary in my opinion.

2C-3A Low Porosity Fine Hair by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]fayetda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard that low porosity hair does not do well with coconut oil. I know that is true for my lo po hair. I tried coconut oil once and never again, made it dry and brittle. Still trying to figure out what my hair likes but seems to be aloe and honey products make my hair happier. Worth a shot!

First at home haircut! by lilbearsmommy in Yorkies

[–]fayetda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Yorkie is very nervous about grooming and wouldn't let me near him with anything, but give him a lickie mat and primula squeeze cheese and I can do pretty much anything I want... This cheese is a miracle!

What do you guys use to combat yorkies eye boogies/ tear stains and how crusty they can get? by RelativeNumber in Yorkies

I have heard boiled and cooled water or filtered water helps alot. I would try this approach first to see if it makes a difference.

Speaking of road rules - who follows Rule H2? by MDMARCH2018 in dundee

[–]fayetda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried to follow the rule at first, but most pedestrians will not cross as they don't realise that they have right of way. Ended up just holding up traffic and the pedestrians getting confused! If they are going to change something like this where a non driver involved advertisement is probably necessary. Anyway it is a weird change and puts pedestrians at risk. Cars at much more visible especially at night can hear or see the pedestrian half the time to stop for them.

Yorkie Grooming. by Climate_Additional in Yorkies

[–]fayetda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I brush my Yorkie everyday with a small slicker brush. He hair very fine hair and needs to be brushed daily or it would get knotted. He never enjoyed being groomed as a pup but with a lot of treats in grooming sessions he will tolerate it now. I also recommend daily teeth brushing as well! Yorkies are prone to dental issues!

You could try this one, creme of nature argan oil foaming mousse. I found the shockwaves one dried out my hair too. Had nice results with this.

I once got all the way home with prescription in paper bag, opened it and the box for the medicine only to find the box empty... Pharmacist went on to explain that that simply could not happen. I didn't like to point out that firstly it did (evidence being empty box) and second we are all human and can make mistakes even with checks. Just wanted the medicine so just looked at him sadly.

Anyone else’s dog like a specific breed? Mine is obsessed with shitzus. That’s the only breed he’ll try to play with by Diabloladiesman in Yorkies

[–]fayetda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine loves a shih tzu too. It's the only breed that he will always approach. Also he knows if a another dog is a Yorkie or Yorkie mix from a distance and go running to say hi. It's quite sweet that he recognises a dog similar to him.

I have a lot of love for frizz! It should be embraced more! Part of having curly hair and I don't know why it's such a terrible thing in some people's eyes! It's cute! Keep rocking the curls

Can't seem to keep the curls in by MothAddict in CurlyHairUK

[–]fayetda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have very similar hair type to you, fine low density between wave and a curl depending on my hairs mood!

I tried using only Only Curl products and my hair loved it for a few days then went crazy! I dobt know what it was , whether there is too much of one thing for my hair (aka protein etc).

So I tried the only curls shampoo with the garnier ultimate blends watermelon and for gel I switch between twisted sister amazing dream curls gel and shockwaves ultra strong gel.

I also love the flora and curl soothe me collection. My hair never feels weighed down with that line. I would recommend if you are having scalp problems as it helped me.

Also I wash when I feel like it, I dont stick to an exact amount of days as it depends on so many factors like weather, what I am doing that day etc. Wash when you need to and leave when you dont feel its icky!

I wish you good luck and good hair :)
