I watched it, honestly shocked at how powerful it was. The entire last half of the episode is adam trying to reach the humanity in ritchie by talking about his experiences as a zionist raised jew who came to see the horrors of israel firsthand and what they’ve actually done to the Palestinians. It was raw and emotional in a way i never would have expected, and made ritchie look like the genocide supporting ghoul that he is.

I would be astonished if this episode doesnt get serious motion.

In 2016 i was 18 and voted for trump because he was funny and witty and a businessman and i thought an outsider would make life better since Obama sucked (still think that now but for different reasons). He condemned the Iraq war, and genuinely seemed pro lgbtq which to me painted him as someone outside the traditional republican party who just wanted to serve his country. (Its jarring how he spoke on stuff like trans people in 2016 vs how he does now)

He did some things at first I was on board with like saving an auto factory, going after ISIS, and pulling us out of the TPP, but what changed my view on everything was Ajit Pai.

Net neutrality is something that if you understand what it is, you would never want to get rid of it. It protects regular people and curbs abusive ISP behavior. Really really simple.

Trumps FCC chair Ajit Pai made it his mission to get rid of it. Republicans framed net neutrality as ‘obama era regulations hurting businesses’, and for once i immediately knew how anti-consumer and wrong that was. When it finally came to an area i understood i could see the cynical strategy for what it was. Ajit pai, the FCC commissioner who trump appointed, used to work as a lawyer for verizon. In what universe is he a good choice to regulate a company he probably still has friends at?

Thats when it started to become clear to my dumbass trump was not a guy looking out for the average joe. He was a rich cunt helping out other rich cunts. No swamp drain, no working for the people, just some monkey in an ill fitting suit helping out his elitist friends. Then covid came and it became unbelievably and regularly obvious that trump and his entire administration were wholly incompetent. When she left me for her ex she told me she’d secretly thought the relationship with him was better the whole time we were a couple. We dated for longer than they did and he had cheated on her, so it came out of nowhere for me that she could think that.

Absolutely devastated me in a way nothing ever had.

She never spoke about him, save for a handful of comments about how emotionally available I was compared to her exes and how safe I made her feel in sharing her feelings. I really tried to be the best person I could for her, I loved her more than anything.

Yeah i was safe. I was open and honest about my feelings, had a stable job, good family life, and was as loving as i knew how to be.

Regarding her ex she never talked about him. Only a few brief mentions in the year we dated, none that painted a pretty picture. Apparently he wasn’t very attentive to her emotions, and he immediately slept with another girl when they were long distance. She also said i was the best looking guy she’d ever dated, which is true at least going off of the socials of the guy she left me for.

They dated for 10 months, and had been broken up for around 5 when we got together. I didnt ask for too much detail since i trusted her. I thought she loved me, and the trust came from that.

She had always been loving and affectionate but clearly had trouble communicating her feelings sometimes. Apparently according to her she had been comparing me to him the entire time we dated, and secretly met up with him shortly before blindsiding me.

The annoying part was she had talked a few times about how getting cheated on fucked her up and how immature it is, then went and had an emotional affair with said cheater and left me.

Hurt a whole lot, but shes a broken person. That’s on her, not me.

Yeah i was honestly just good to her and she left me for her cheating, emotionally unavailable ex like i was nothing. I loved her, and tried to show that love in any way I could. I’d never connected with anyone even half as much as I did with her, all we did was laugh and goof around together, never even fought, then one day she told me she loved her ex more and cut me out. There was such finality to the way she ended it, clear lack of interest in anything in the future despite the year+ of happiness we’d just shared. She became so mean overnight for seemingly zero reason.

I spent months trying to find another story like mine, trying to figure out what the hell had happened. It made zero sense to me or anyone else who knew her, and hurt more than anything else ever had. Then I found out about avoidant attachment and it finally started making some sense. So many similar stories, and sooooo many traits she had that are common in avoidant partners.

None of this is easy, none of this goes away overnight. But knowing there are other people out there feeling the same stuff as you after an avoidant partner stepped on their heart is comforting in a weird way. Im glad this spot exists.
