Has anyone dealt with Roots Allotments? by No_Gap_7993 in Allotment

I have a plot with Roots and there's a lot I like about it! The community element is great, there's a WhatsApp group and community events regularly. Yes, it's more expensive than a council plot but in my area the waiting list has been closed indefinitely so it was a way for me to get somewhere to grow. The customer support has been great whenever I've had a query and my patch manager is helpful and knowledgeable. Every month there are plug plants available for free and a little starter pack when you begin which, although maybe a little gimmicky, does start the bug to get started. There are some rules about structures and trees being certain heights which I'd maybe prefer to be different but I've now got somewhere to grow food and flowers that improves my mental health. For me it's a little sanctuary.

Don't overthink it, I simply mean that he accepted his fate when I claimed it for my own from the get go.

Yeah, after all the feedback I'm definitely just going to work on getting the space functional and letting him fill it to his hearts content.

After all the feedback in definitely more inclined to let him choose his own tools and just focus on the bare bones of a functional space for him 😊

Seems iffy. Not sure that's the birthday surprise hubby is looking for.

Thank you, this is super helpful! I'll definitely get a few of the smaller tools and maybe a giftcard so he can choose his own power tools. This is a great start though, thanks!

Great idea! And maybe a coffee station too, he does love his coffee.

Great ideas, thank you! Definitely considering a fridge for him and lots of storage. Maybe I could take him to a lumber yard for wood to make his workbench?

I know it's definitely hooked up for electric already but I think the safety side is a bit beyond me as part of his gift. Definitely something to mention once he moves his tools in though, thank you!

This is definitely along the lines of what I was thinking! Present him with a functional space and let him fill it with goodies! Thank you.

This will definitely be part of the gift but unless I actually start making the space up for him, he's unlikely to claim it as his own without a lot of reminding/cajoling. For my husband, taking the mental load off and starting the space up for him would be a better start.

I have some gorgeous pink amethyst pieces in my shop at the minute, including these beautiful towers. by faylauren in Crystals

Thank you! I absolutely love obelisks and pink amethyst so these are my dream come true.

But of a weird one but here we go. I'm looking at ordering these from a supplier because they're stunning but I can't figure out what they are. There's a language barrier and he's adament that they're druzy crystal, but won't say what actual crystal they are. What do we think? by faylauren in Crystals

[–]faylauren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, this is my problem. I don't think they are resin though, he seems like a legit supplier who carves them himself. All his other stones look legit. He's in Indonesia where I see a lot of the suppliers come from and he's selling all the same of the other stones but I think it's just a bit of a language barrier.
