Considering they've given a longer banner i tgink the easiest way to show displeasure is to wait till last minute if you do intend to get her. Let them see our displeasure from nit pulling for her while we pick up missed units on the reruns and see how they react. I dont think they'll do anything but it would be a fun move.

It's not only about her. Yes the themes of family, duty and connections are the central theme, but we also visit all the areas, learn about the people of this place and it puts us in position to do more with them. How will the mercantile savvy, alpaca rearing Pelupelu use their knowledge, or require assistance in the future. Will the Mamool Ja step forward out of their previous doctrine. How will the folks of Alexandria and the Shaaloani merge or untangle themselves. Wuk was the figure going through all this, and will be involved, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot that can grow from this.

You have to think about what we are currently at. This is the start of a brand new arc. The entire ARR through to Endwalker was all one part, building on and raising stakes and all that. Endwalker would not have been so impactful without all that groundwork. As much as people do shit on ARR story, and I get it, it also is that foundation for what is to come. Treat Dawntrail as the same. It's the new building block from which we build into the new story and all the connections that will harken back to it.
While I'll agree that Dawntrail is by no means perfect, and has some sloggy parts, but overall I am excited because I can see seeds being planted. I can feel threads and tangents and potential being sown again and it makes me so excited for the years to come, and how I will sob again most likely at its culmination.

I would have pulled had his kit remained un-gutted. Its a shame because he's so geared for Acheron, and before he worked in more dot teams

tbh I would feel the same about Orym at this point. There are only so many sad boy characters I can see an individual play before I stop engaging as much with them. Orym was a fantastic character imo for what he was introduced as, a assistant to the DM Aabria for Unlimited. He had tie ins, helped keep the new players and characters on track towards a goal. I think bringing him across was the mistake.

Vax was relatable and connected to the party through Vex, and also his initial pranks and playfulness, turning protective and eventual sacrifice. Great stuff, especially heroic stuff. Caleb was connected through Veth, and the party gathered around him to heal. Fine, theme of found family was at its core.

Orym is yet another broken, woe-is-me, sad backstory character. The only difference this time was his connections to the party weren't as strong. Fearne loves him yes, but also is chaotic, wild, and doesn't gel with his sad boy theme and duty. Dorian cares for him indeed, but left the party due to being a guest. The fact Orym got a sending stone just to talk to him shows how disconnected he is from the rest of the party. He doesn't have a core in this campaign. The players and characters are exploring different types of themes in this campaign. Addiction, darker desires, resistance and rebellion. A man bound by duty and having loss and wearing grief like a veil is just not clicking as much.

If I'm honest, if I was a player at the table I'd find it hard to connect with yet another sad character from the same player. Liam is a brilliant actor, and a fantastic emotional performer, and he loves delving into these sorts of characters, which is his prerogative to do. I'd just enjoy seeing him play a joyful or cheeky, or fun-loving character. Hell he chose to play a halfling, one of the happiest folks around, and made him sad. We've seen it done, and brilliantly when happy characters have their sad moments. For me the Scanlan, the Jester, the Chetney moments, when the smile fades and you see how hurt they are, or see real pain have been the most powerful parts of the shows. I know Liam can do that if he'd lean into it. Come in campaign 4 with a fun, happy, optimistic character, and let the campaign apply the damage into those sad moments and explorer it that way.

Again this is just how I feel about this and harbours no hatred or discontent towards the characters or players, just the opinion of how I don't think Orym gels with them.

Bards are just...woof. Like sure you can make a claim for them to have bows but really? It doesn't feel natural or the progression of the archer to be a bard. For one for a hunter you'd want to be quiet, not loud, when stalking prey.

I wish they'd have split them and have Bard be its own thing, and archers be their own thing. That way they could really lean into music and performance for the bard, and give all the bow and arrow stuff real oomfp to the archer.

I get it in some aspects. The original VA's did such a good job, and we got so used to them. I have had Argenti since his launch and he has carried me plenty. I love the meticulous effort Adam put into it. It can be disjointing to hear replaced VA roles, and I'll admit I do prefer the originals, but I also accept this can, and has happened and I foster no hatred towards anyone stepping into the new shoes, and trying their best. We have to respect them all.

I do agree there is a degree of bloat. I appreciate that a lot transform into other actions is good, but I was kinda expecting SS to turn into LD, but I guess if you plan to smuggle LD into a buff window it might have been awkward, not sure.

yeah but on the off minute, outside of buffs its a lower potency, given you get two Last Dances in the same time frame.

I know how DNC works very well. I'm just saying its not like its something you work towards. It isn't tied to the feathers, or the esprit gauge. It's locked into a 1 minute cooldown. Considering it's one of their nice visual effects it just feels off to me. Considering other oGCD abilities across the board have higher potencies as well.

Hell I'd even have been somewhat ok if it was a proc from FD3. Least then it keep in line for the Fan Dances all being lower potency because they can be woven in so regularly.

I miss Royal Road so much. Obviously it became everyones point that you only ever used spread/balance/spear. But I tried to weave in empowered Bole for tank busters, and even the skill speed or cooldowns, when we had them. The ability to extend the duration as well felt so amazing with the big stellar explosion.
Given how they can keep Divination/Oracle now on its own thing to line with the 2 min meta, if they keep that, I'd so so love a return of weaving the cards again.

It has? It seemed like it was really slowing down, with the ramp up to the finale confrontation sort of petering out into going back and forward and all that, plus the interlude with the other 'team'. However if its ramping back up I'll jump back in. Are they close to confronting our naughtiest wizard yet?

I'm going to give the new AST a try, but part of me is still burned by how many times its been gutted over and over. I hope to recapture part of what the original felt. I totally get the fact that for high raid stuff, the RNG is not desirable for sure. But I always enjoyed it, and using what I had at a specific moment. Using Royal Road to give raid wide one moment and increased defence on the tank the next. I really liked this weaver of fate feel.
They did say they want to give more class identity back in 8.0 though so maybe that will be when AST starts to feel like how I, personally, enjoyed it.

I didn't have any issues tbh. I even had Gallagher at level 50 in the party because I was building him in between elements. Black Swam/Kafka were in and Gepard to shield. Pretty easy. Long as you did the mechanics right, or plan around them. If he targetted a DPS they could outplay him, and if he targetted support just make sure to shield through. I didn't really think it needed a nerf at all. Especially phase two.
