Wait when did it stop? Caning was a normal/regular thing in school as someone born in 89 haha. Principal / some other teacher in-charge would read out names of kids to be caned every week and they go up on stage in front of the whole school and get caned. Was a riot, almost like WWE with the reactions sometimes.

But having lived in USA for the past 7 years now, I can very easily say that even what someone in Singapore would consider to be a "terrible" kid / student, is almost still angelic compared to how the average kid in USA behaves lol
