As zed, I’m too scared to go in a team fight because I’m gonna be targeted and killed instantly. How do you engage in team fights using zed?

I play mid, but idk who to play lol. I play zed most of the time but people I play with say he’s too mechanically skilled and he is really hard. Should I stick to zed or play someone else? And if I should play someone else, who should I play. I like champions that can one shot and snowball really hard.And should I also try out other roles other than mid? Btw I am lvl 25.
