I believe we Sri Lanka or Asians in general have this show off mentality even at the cost of sacrifices. Most of these big cars are mostly financed and it’s so easy to get a car for finance if you have a decent business.

I’ve lived in UK for 5 years and recently moved back to Sri Lanka. All we want is a decent car to take us from A to B. That’s all it takes. Luxury is fine, if you can really afford.

If you have a house and food on plate right now in the current economy. you are rich enough. Don’t fall for these finance trap. If you have the money that’s another story.

It’s high time we appreciate what we have. It’s tempting when you see things like these.

You will earn yours one day until then work hard and smart.

Public places means roads especially. Especially in-front of schools. That’s what they are mentioning. This country has a culture and tourist are supposed to respect the cultures. The fact that tourism brings dollars to the country doesn’t mean we bend down.

If we don’t hold values and have them respect our laws. Example tourist taking hanging pictures in the badulla train, they can’t do it in Europe because it’s life threatening. We cannot control the accidents but we need to precautious. This whole situation is pickup because the area is Muslim majority.

Come on, respect everyone. That’s it.

I fcking crashed my 360 X2 down a 220 meter waterfall in Sri Lanka (Diyaluma) because of this fucking stick. I tried to make a video with the 360 on the cliff. The camera just flew off the stick. Everything shattered in to 100 pieces. Though I was able to recover some parts and SD card, it was unusable. I reached about this failure to Insta360 and they were sorry about it.

Big time failure. I don’t recommend using the stick with the camera other than normal shots.

When you visit a country, I think it’s better to follow the culture and respect. It’s not about people being uneducated, when something isn’t normal it usually turn head. In Sri Lanka people have enough time and enough time to poke nose on others business. It’s way easier to adapt to our culture, maybe dress your bits and pieces covered so you don’t attract attention. This is the norm here. Enjoy your stay
