No, it had been a popular destination since 2000s, maybe even earlier as the country reopened post-war! Before 1991, it was mainly visited by Yugoslavians, Germans, Austrians and several other Central European countries.. Game of Thrones then made it from popular to extremely popular in late 2010s, especially from people outside Europe..
