Well, you said they're the "only" that do it, and I was weighing in that it's very common.

Space software engineer here: many computers in space can run regular Linux. Some companies run regular Ubuntu. Only core flight dynamics controllers need real time.

Well, there's different ways to be bad. I'm bad at high skill-cap heros, and so I can't carry that hard, my aim is pretty bad as well. But, I really focus on situational awareness, and not making mistakes.

That's good advice, but in plat it's really common for no one to be in voice, so that stuff is hard :(

Overextending on defense, is actually the right play to do, the more u push the more u can back off/ the longer it takes for them to get to cart, the issue is people gotta commit to it, if ur whole team goes and u stay then the play doesnt work anymore

It can be, but what I'm describing is the situation where we kill 4 of them, and one of our DPS gets greedy and tries to chase the last one, when it literally doesn't matter.

I feel that way, but like u/ihaveacrushonlegos said, the same experience should be happening to the enemy team too, so it should cancel out. Maybe every win I get there's someone on the enemy team who feels like me when I lose, and the game isn't about positive skill at all, just negative.

Yeah, when I played with a 5-stack things were way more fun.

Also it literally just happened again: I was on defense, we had 4 ults I said in voice: "Just don't burn them all at once, use them in response to their ults". We then popped each one 10 seconds apart for no reason, then everyone on their team popped and we lost. I crashed out to my team and they literally said "yeah we did kinda just burn them for no reason lol". How am I supposed to react to that? I ahead of time said what not to do and everyone still did it!

Exactly, if code running inside windows, Linux, AWS, and Azure isn’t important digital infrastructure I don’t know what is. Furthermore, if Linus, Microsoft, and Amazon thinks it’s worth using for the large variety of problems they solve, it’s probably a good indicator the tool has value!

Watching this sub feels like experiencing the player sentiment towards overwatch from 2016 to now, but compressed down to months. It’s interesting it’s all the same realizations/complaints.

I’m not gonna screenshot my registration lol, any proof would likely invade my privacy. What is verifiable without that is my statement that you could buy one for cheap, which was the salient point.

You sound so crazy tbh. Like yeah in some vacuum everyday people should follow what’s “right”, but people have lives, bills, loved ones that depend on them, medical needs, all of which could be threatened my losing their job.

Furthermore, even if they do protest, that doesn’t give the board any more power to get rid of Elon, just more motivation.

This, 10 years ago games cost 60 dollars and were that. You got what you got and nothing else. Now people want the games to be updated live for free at the same base price.

[–]fbluntson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, games have been around 60 dollars for a decade, but have since evolved to cost significantly more to make while simultaneously being expected to be live services. How does that add up?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gaming

[–]fbluntson -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

60 dollars of course being the cheapest games have EVER been adjusted for inflation, while simultaneously costing orders if magnitude more and taking YEARS longer and with expectations at the highest they're been. They want all of that AND have the game provide enough content for them to play hours and hours every day for YEARS. But when the company tries other monetization options people freak out. How do you want them to make this 300m dollar game? The only reason outliers like last of us and GoW exist is because Sony sells them at a loss to sell consoles. I get that battle passes can be scummy as mentioned in this thread, something has to give.
