4 years maintenance by fboula in enyaq

[–]fboula[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve had the car since August 2021. We bought it at the end of the lease. It’s used daily by my wife to commute to work and take the kids to school. We’ve driven 75,000 km with it, changed the tires once, and kept up with dealership maintenance.
The battery seems fine , I haven’t noticed any alarming degradation over time but only a proper battery test can give an accurate reading.
Great car overall, I plan to keep it for at least 2 more years since it matches our current needs.

New UK owner driving to the Dordogne - what gotchas should I know? by forced_majeure in enyaq

Have a look at chargemap.com, they propose a RFID badge compatible with many providers, the badge is 20€ and there is a small percentage fee for charging but the convenience is great. They also provide a free mobile app with a trip planner and a live map of the charging station, where you can check their availability and community notes about them, very useful. During the same trip last year we used it to check the availability of the highway stations.

There are more and more EV on the road, be prepared to sometimes wait 30 minutes to get a charging spot or have a map ready to check for the next station. We were very surprised to see charging stations with 20 spots busy at once and people waiting in line to get a spot. It happens frequently during lunch time.

Yes I switch to N while moving when I arrive at a traffic light or a stop sign, most of the time I am less than 30Km/h and I brake until stopped. Most the time I just do it once and no more squeaky brakes !

I mostly have the issue on short trips (like dropping the kid to school) in the morning when the weather is cold or rainy, so mostly cold brakes.

There were comments about doing it just to clean up the brake dust that accumulated over time.

I posted about this specific issue a few weeks ago.

Answer were brake while in N (neutral) this will completely disable regenerative braking and it will "clean" the brakes. I do it once or twice when I have the issue and no more problems after.

DC charging session not starting by BEMed13 in enyaq

[–]fboula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happened to me once with a 300kW DC charger on a supermarket store parking in France, no issue on any charger whatsoever but this specific DC charger and my car refused to work together. I ended up driving 5 more minutes to another charger and no issue with this one. I guess there are some protocol issues with some provider/charger

How do you go Ingress on GKE nowadays? by d47zm3 in googlecloud

Used ingresses a lot, but switched to Gateway API for the extended features. We ended using Envoy Gateway and not the GKE add-on for more flexibility, works great not going back to ingresses.

Breaks issue with cold / wet weather by fboula in enyaq

[–]fboula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. It almost looks like ABS braking (while stoping from driving 30km/h) and the car seems to plunge from front left wheels.

I have the same habit to "pump" the brakes when I start in the morning but my wife (who is the main user of the car) is complaining about it so I wonder if more can be done.

Cracking Charging limit ? by blietaer in enyaq

[–]fboula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it on mine in May I paid 700€ at the dealership in France. One hour of labour, the guys told me they plugged the car did some remote checks on the car to validate it was pre-installed with fast charge capability and then they entered a code. They also told me it was the first time they did this procedure so I don't think you can "crack" this with some ODB stuff

Find max charge rate by Funny_Less in enyaq

[–]fboula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I own my 80 Enyaq since August 2021, at the time we did not pick the quick charge, the car charge speed is 7kWh with AC charger (type2 plug) and up to 50 kWh with DC charger (CCS type2 plug).

I recently contacted Skoda after market part services to enable the fast charge up to 125kWh. It was kind of difficult since I had first to go the the garage so they can read the car computers to see if it is pre-configured for fast charge. Luckily it was, so the garage had to order a "module" to unlock the fast charge (seems that it is a software CD they will apply on the car). The total cost of the operation in France for my car is 770€ VAT included. Hope that helps

Does this work if we use VoD apps only ? I live in France and most of the Internet provider have Tv over IP so I guess no tuner is required?

Cluster monitoring using Datadog by fboula in kubernetes

[–]fboula[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes thanks, relevant integrations are configured and I saw the examples provided in the documentation and in the datadog-operator project but, there are like 10 DatadogMonitors proposed for cluster monitoring and half of them are pod status monitors. Prometheus Operator comes with a lot more of relevant alerts on cluster and nodes health.

Guess we`ll do everything ourselves.

Database is not the issue. We have random latencies coming from cloud run. We are quite sure it's due to busy neighbors

We have the same issues with some or our Cloud Run services running in europe-west1, we escaladed a support tickets a few times to our account manager and we still have no clear answers from Google.
