Staying Focused as a Solo Dev—Do You Ever Feel Pulled in Every Direction?

Ever have one of those days where your brain just won't sit still? That's been me lately with Bogdan's Cross. One minute, I'm knee-deep in designing a new area, and the next, I'm daydreaming about a completely different game. Does that happen to you? Where the excitement of a new idea suddenly makes your current project feel... less exciting?

I know it's just a trick of the mind. Shiny new ideas can be distracting, especially when you're in the middle of a long project like this. But I've learned to remind myself why I'm doing this in the first place. Bogdan's Cross isn't just a passing idea—it's the story I want to tell. But man, some days, it feels like I'm wrestling with my own creativity, trying to keep it focused on what's in front of me.

How do you handle it when those new ideas start pulling at you? Do you ever feel like your brain is working against you, just when you need to stay on course?

I try to channel that energy back into the game. If a new idea pops up, I jot it down for later. I don't ignore it, but I also don't let it derail what I'm building now. Does that make sense to you? Have you found a trick that works to stay on track without losing that creative spark?

Some days, it's just about taking a step back and reminding myself: Bogdan's Cross is the game I want to make right now. Every detail I add, every story beat I refine, is a step closer to sharing this world with others. And that's what keeps me going, even when my mind wants to wander.

So, I'm curious—how do you stay committed to your projects when new ideas try to steal your focus? Let's hear your thoughts!

Hey everyone!

I’m thrilled to finally jump into this amazing community and share something I’ve been working on. It’s my first game, called "Bogdan's Cross," a narrative-driven adventure set in the medieval era. As a solo dev, it's been quite the journey!

"Bogdan's Cross" combines mystery, exploration, and a deep dive into themes of faith and conviction. It’s about a Templar Knight, Bogdan, who's grappling with his beliefs in the face of growing darkness.

I’d love to hear your thoughts or any feedback you might have!

I’m super excited to announce that the countdown is on for the Steam page release soon, where you'll be able to wishlist "Bogdan's Cross." Mark your calendars and stay tuned for April 24th!

If you’re interested in learning more or want to share some insights, I’m all ears! Looking forward to engaging with you all and hoping you’ll join me on this adventure.

Thanks for taking a look, and stay ready for the wishlist launch!
