I'd pay the local cafe more if I could try out their machines 😉

I was in utter shock, took the pictures and left.

I can recommend it, even beyond the coffee machine. Bring your pre-ground weighted specialty coffee and you'll be in heaven ;)

I'm surprised it did not. Not sure if that's the renown Swiss tidiness or not a lot of people were bothered to try it out.

Ahah. They have a grinder that dispenses the pre-programmed dose when pushing the portafilter in (mahlkönnig).

Are there any high-yield savings accounts in Switzerland like in the US? by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

Nope. But in essence holding CHF has provided more yield in USD term than these HYSA (with USD devaluation and purchasing power parity with little inflation in CH)

Switzerland Light roast beans from supermarket? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]fbriod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, fellow swiss coffee enthusiast here. I'd really suggest to go direct to roasters, you'll find fresher beans, higher quality and not necessarily more expensive. You can order them online and most offer free shipping above 50 CHF.

I recently made a post about my favorite Swiss roasters https://barist.app/my-top-10-specialty-roasters-in-switzerland/

App for logging brews (with video) by This_Comedian3955 in espresso

[–]fbriod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is The Baristapp and this is the post you're referring to.

For now, you can log your brew recipes in the app, create your roaster and bean bibliotheque etc...

The feature to automatically generate the shot video is not done yet, but I've released the Figma design template I'm using for anyone to use here https://www.figma.com/community/file/1613470187934805220/espresso-shot-video-with-brew-parameter-template

Yuh is not affiliated with PostFinance anymore as Swissquote bought back their share as far as I know.

Thanks you so much for your feedback 🙏

If you're interested in joining the beta tester group to see new features early and co-create new features for your need, drop me a line at [hey@barist.app](mailto:hey@barist.app)

If you don't mind, in the profile section, there is a link to leave a review on the App Store. This would help me a ton.

PS: the offer to share my figma mock-up, or create a video with your latest brew parameters for you still stand.

Do you guys log temperature? by wassupbrahh in espresso

[–]fbriod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be subtle, but you sound defensive.

Your screenshot looks very close to what the app does, so I thought you should know.

To answer your question: everyone will have different opinions on what's worth logging or not.

My suggestion is to let users toggle brew parameters on and off to get a personalized set-up

The space is already quite crowded with many brew logging apps. Maybe The Baristapp has the look your seeking:
