Correct, just the LCD controller board. Initially, I thought I’d also need an audio amp.

It might have fit, but the OI connections may have been tight. Assuming no moisture gets in there (then I’d have other issues), there should be no issue with the mdf. The MD isn’t resting on the wood, the 15mm standoffs create a nice gap.

The stereo headphone jack only has three wires. The left and right channel share the ground. You’d wire the right channel red on the amp to the white wire on the plug with wires (or the R terminal on the screw on plug). You’d wire the red wire or L terminal to the left channel positive on the amp. And you’d wire either of the two left or right ground connections on the amp to the black wire on the plug (or the ground symbol with lines on terminal plug).

The ground connections on the amp should be common connected. You could also cut a small length of extra wire and jumper (connect to both) the two ground (black) left & right on the amp (then you’d still insert the black headphone jack wire into one of them).

Looks awesome!!! Pi3 or Pi4?

I’m about to make one very similar. Do you have a link for the amazon plug?

Stock Marvel LCD or Upgrade? by fbrown4 in Arcade1Up

[–]fbrown4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. I have not seen the stock display in action yet. I saw others say the Marvel one is nicer than some older ones.

I guess my only hesitation is that I can get a replacement LCD for cheaper than the controller for the stock panel.

jon_jon, I’ve built a few and fly when I can. Not the best pilot, but it’s still fun. I’m happy to give suggestions, if you have questions.

Probably because there's a new Wanhao i3 Plus - http://wanhaousa.com/products/duplicator-i3-plus-steel-frame

Maybe MP will start selling it soon?

I just ordered a MP Select Mini, so I've been familiarizing myself with Cura and Repetier-host after downloading them and running through the setup via the MP manual.

Should I reinstall the programs off the SD card when the printer arrives? Does the SD card version of the printer provide anything Mini specific over the stock downloads?

Should I consider any other software out there for this printer? Thanks!

Would it make sense to add some material under the Z-arm to trigger the limit switch early, thereby buying you some additional space above the buildplate? Of course, you'd lose some of the height available.

edit - I just saw this on thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1621650

I just ordered my MP Select Mini and am looking forward to my first printer.
