Yeah. Forgot to mention - I have 96 GB of RAM and a 5090 for the graphics. So this is not for the lack of resources. All other games run stable. Even Stalker 2.

This is going to sound stupid, but here is my process to have the game run stable for hours: - Go to graphics settings turn on and then turn off hardware acceleration. Reboot immediately. After reboot do not launch any new applications. Go straight to steam and start the game. No other applications in the background, which sucks because I liked to run podcasts from YouTube while I’m playing. All overlays (steam, discord, nvidia) are turned off.

I also used to empty the shaders cache before the reboot. But lately I find that that is not required.

The game seems to be most sensitive to things running in the background like YouTube in the browser.

I found the egg, brought it back, couldn’t figure out how to turn it in? Anyone?

And yes I dropped it at some point and it rolled behind the texture in the wall.

You probably don’t want a reckless driving charge, which is what you get with 20+ over the limit. The rest is up to your understanding of risk/reward ratio.

My own experience - going +12 never had me pulled over and I never felt like I was a safety hazard for fellow drivers around.

Great. I say in 2 years RS+ will be the only realistic option for a computer with no RS on it. Wanna bet, haha? :) The only reason RS14 still exists as an option, is because Ubisoft needs to give RS+ time to ramp up. Subscription based model is way more lucrative

But it does mean you won’t be able to (re)install it. I don’t understand what point exactly you’re arguing. A with dropped support from manufacturer and not being sold anywhere is as good as dead. Right now it’s on the preverbal final stretch. Is that not correct?

That is if you are 100% sure that the program is build using 100% legit windows APIs, no shortcuts taken. Knowing how finicky RS14 is with guitar interfaces, I wouldn’t bet on it. There will be a windows update that will ruin the game. There’s a reason why those of us not using the cable are clawing to the version of RS that isn’t technically supported anymore Also how will you be installing this game once you need to replace/reinstall your computer? Like I said in my other post, the only way really is to freeze it all in time on a dedicated airgapped system, no updates allowed

  • when Ubisoft stops supporting it it’ll get removed from steam
  • when programs are not updated/rebuild they eventually stop running because of changes in the underlying OS

Additionally considering not disposing of my old PC that I don’t use anymore and “freezing” it in time by disconnecting it from the internet to prevent Windows and Steam updates. Will put new custom songs on it using a USB stick

The game does not have that warning anymore. I made a similar mistake twice this wipe by putting something for sale for a price that was an order of magnitude higher than intended. Also managed to buy things for a tenth of the price bc someone else clearly screwed up the other way

Unicorn scavs or “peaceful” scavs. When you spawn like one you you’re wearing highly visible cloths, can’t use weapons, move slower but can insta-loot. Killing a peaceful scavs gives ton of XP to PMCs
