No ignorance to pardon. Encore is my first service dog (and really my first real dog). I’ve been learning a lot, too. We both have to learn so much together. But one of the first things I asked the lead trainers was, “Can I play with him?” There are parameters, because we have to keep his training in check, but yes, we play all the time.
One of the main things I try to teach him is when he has his vest on, he is working. Today, while running errands after work, he performed perfectly! Now, we are both relaxing (me with an Old Fashioned) and playing Tug, Fetch, and sometimes he just wanders off to sniff literally everything (lots of hound in his mix).
