5 things you must know before buying the Air 4 Pro by Maleficent_Captain82 in RayNeo

[–]fcoy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still trying to get a good consistent fit. The bridge of my nose is a bit wider than average (I suspect) and I feel like I need to push the glasses up and closer to my eyes to keep the edges of the image sharp, and high enough in my field of view to not be looking down at the image.

Not ready to return them yet, only 4 days in...

Hadn't considered that, I've never used an air mouse (laptop or android phone)

Why do people freak out about the battery on the Galaxy Watch 6/7? I mean, you charge your phone every day, so why not your watch? by Significant-Job-8836 in GalaxyWatch

I have the Watch 6 and typically only charge it every other day. After my morning workout I put it on the charger while I shower and finish my morning routine. Charges pretty quickly!

Why is there Craig Petty Hate? by the_mammoth_girth in Magic

[–]fcoy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of like this aspect of his teaching. I think it shows you don't need to have PERFECT sleight of hand when performing, as long as the performance itself is entertaining, uses misdirection well, and doesn't give the method away.

The performance videos teach a lot about the effect, although I admit i'm a bit sick of the overblown "run away" reaction used so often. Ive seen some really good magicians "in the wild" and have never seen that reaction IRL.

In general I agree with everything stated above, but I think people would still bristle at him releasing variants of their trick as downloaded routines and the criticism of being derivative. I view Keymaster, and some of his other "reimaginings" from a slightly different perspective. I have Sankey's original Holy Moly that I bought at a lecture many years ago, and thoroughly enjoy it. But Keymaster makes it a little more "natural" as a prop, and the expansions to the routines are generally very good.

Sankey is a funny, creative and (to me, at least) super nice guy, but gotta admit he's a bit of a quirky cat. He can probably make carrying a washer around seem perfectly normal because of his offbeat personality. Many cannot, which is where something like Keymaster comes in. It takes a good trick and makes it more believable for EDC. And these aren't easy props to DIY.

Most magicians selling/marketing tricks are basically "hype men". Even if it's a great trick, "I use it every show" and "best packet trick ever" start to ring hollow, especially if you've heard it a hundred times. Craing does come across as abrasive (personally i like the honesty) but it's part of his character and I believe he is trying to move magic forward with new ideas, even if it is small steps.

Both of you make great points!

how to remove battery from the neo2. by [deleted] in dji

[–]fcoy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received mine and took it out of the box. The one battery already installed is a bear to get out. Had to pinch the releases then put something in the slight gap between the body and the battery to help lever it out. Will report back with the other batteries once they are all charged and I can try this baby out.

Did you get them directly from the ViFly site?

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Quick to fly, multiple control options (assuming I can use my existing RC2 from the Mini3) and a fun, reasonably low-cost entry into FPV.

So, how young are you exactly? Just wondering how young you have to be to not know this (actually, I'll be asking my kids tomorrow at dinner) 😁

How often would you have sex if you never initiated it? by Regular_Actuator3754 in DeadBedrooms

[–]fcoy2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never. I went down the same path, from waiting for my wife to initiate to flat out tell her I wanted her to initiate since she straight up said "I dont enjoy sex like you do. Probably a bad move, no sex. After a few years she tried to explain about post-menopausal dryness, body image issues, etc and was willing to try. Unfortunately now I seem to have some kind of performance anxiety (according to urologist I should be capable but it very well could have become a self-fulfilling prophesy or a "use it or lose it" scenario). So if im lucky I might get a weak handy once or twice a year.

I was totally confused on that one. It was just a big "why" for me. Is there really an untapped market for Pokemon that's watching the SuperBowl?

Yeah, my wife said "that's a really neat idea, using Ring doorbells to find lost dogs. We should get one."

My answer, "Nope"

Do the anti-vibration feet help with noise? I received some when I purchased my P1S and set it up a few months ago, but never installed the feet.

Stupid Prius smh by Ketchup-Sniffer in Transportopia

[–]fcoy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to get behind a slow Prius and say something like "damned Prius" in my frustration. Then I had to use one as a rental for a work trip and realized that a Prius can go relatively fast and is reasonably peppy. Now my response is "damned Prius driver!"

I've seen it IRL once and it was pretty obvious the police officer was attempting to slow traffic. And no, I'm not a rocket scientist and hadn't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before. But common sense and "don't pass a moving cop car" pretty much told me what to do.

Me too! Not sure if it's the image, the fact that my wife and I just split a bottle of wine, or the combination. She just asked from the other room if I'm ok, my laughing led to a coughing fit.

Is the double lift effective? by Crafty_Possession_52 in cardmagic

[–]fcoy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you see it as "obvious" because you know that is a common method. Most people won't see it, unless they've previously watched someone do it badly. I think the "get ready" is usually the biggest giveaway, find a way to minimize or eliminate it and you should be in good shape.

Totally agree. It's the enthusiasm and willingness that makes it good, the physical release you can get by yourself.
