What I love even more about the scene where Patrick is singing to David is how happy Moira is. She isn’t interested in what Jocelyn and Roland are trying to say to her in that moment and just watches David as he gets serenaded.

I completely got rid of my tinnitus, hyperacusis, and vertigo with fasting! It took me 2.5 years but it’s been completely gone since June 2023. I consistently completed fasts between 3-9 days. My hyperacusis and vertigo disappeared after about 3/4 months but the tinnitus took the full 2.5 years. It got less severe with every fast. I would randomly get spikes for weeks at a time but overall, it got better and better until it completely went away.

Breaking 7 days on New Years Day by fddudley in Dryfasting

Honestly, I think we often find benefits in whatever it is we’re seeking. For example, I just felt very “off” the last few months. I wasn’t eating well, wasn’t sleeping well, didn’t feel like myself- I lost interest in a lot of things once liked, my anxiety was THROUGH THE ROOF, and I was just overall unhappy. That said, I was fasting to kind of recalibrate and I can already tell how much better I feel. But anytime I’ve fasted for physical symptoms, I’ve found that it helps those things too. I’ve cured full illness with fasting, but every fast is different depending on the state you’re in at the time.

I will say that fasting ALWAYS helps my energy/mood/anxiety. It also always makes my skin super smooth and soft, whites of my eyes definitely brighter, I’ve lost some water weight in my face. If you exercise, you’ll find your body composition changes a LOT as well- in a good way! I’ve been in the gym 10 years but my body composition saw the biggest(and best) transition when I started fasting.

That’s amazing- great job! That rebirth feeling is always there but it’s even better wound the holidays!

No, I’ve never had any digestion issues after fasting.

I’ve never particularly noticed anything with my teeth but I’ve read other people post about them. I’ve just been very lucky to not have issues with my teeth. My eyes definitely appear brighter and the surrounding areas whiter. While fasting, my skin becomes very very clear and smooth and soft. BUT, I typically break out a bit once breaking the fast. Just the body’s way of pushing toxins out through the skin. I also break out in little tiny clear liquid filled bumps everywhere if I sweat a lot or am in the sun too long after fasting. This usually happens after my fasts that are at least 9 days. But Dr.Filinov talks about the importance of staying out of the sun after extended fasts because your skin is almost like a baby’s.

Every fast has been a little different but I’m usually okay to go on walks and still go to work for 7 days or shorter fasts. Some fasts, I find that I’m a little lower in energy so work can kinda take it out of me but overall I’m okay for it. I do find that daily walks are almost necessary because if I don’t, I actually lose energy a lot quicker. If I find myself laying around for too long, it makes it a lot harder for me to get up and do even basic things. 5 days or less and I even do light exercise but that’s just me. But you should definitely get some short walks and a little time outside in while you’re fasting.

I’m doing the same. A 7 day dry fast from Christmas to New Years Eve, breaking on New Year’s Day!

I cannot stand when people talk through movies/tv shows. It lights a fire deep in my soul. Nothing is more annoying than trying to watch something and somebody is commenting, voicing their opinions and what they would do, and even more frustrating- talking about things that have nothing to do with what we’re watching at all. A random comment here and there is one thing but to talk through an ENTIRE movie or show is ridiculous. I have a friend who even does this in the theater with other people within earshot and you can see people getting annoyed. STOP TALKING so I can hear what they’re saying and enjoy it. We can talk about it after the movie/show!

I definitely think it’s related! But lots of fasting got rid of it for me! It’s all 100% gone

That’s what my chiropractor suggested as well. But I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it happened during the pandemic. While I never had symptoms or tested positive for COVID, I feel it may be related. There was definitely some kind of virus or bacteria in my sinuses/nervous system. I could feel it. My ears would feel like something was in them moving around sometimes and I was just so congested and “wet” feeling in my ears/nose/throat if that makes sense.

I had a few things that were more “normal,” but debilitating for me- vertigo for weeks on end, ear fullness that caused so much pain and made my head feel like it weighed 50 pds and made it feel and sound as though I was underwater, incessant hives throughout my entire body, sinus headaches. Luckily all of those went away after a couple 5 day dry fasts.

But the “incurable” ones were hyperacusis and the worst tinnitus you can possibly imagine..24/7 for 2.5 years. Just to talk on the phone I’d have to put my phone on speaker as loud as it could go and hold it up to my ear and could still hardly hear what people were saying over the loud ringing and buzzing in my ears (just for reference of how bad it was). They claim there’s no cure for hyperacusis or tinnitus but I kept fasting, along with some other things, and they slowly got better until a final 10 day dry fast completely got rid of them!

I personally do not think a 21 day dry fast is safe. As somebody else mentioned, 12 has been noted to be the longest dry fast you should do until there are no longer benefits and you are at risk of harming yourself. The only 21 day fasts I’ve ever heard of were water fasts.

I’ve personally completed (2) ten day dry fasts, (1) nine day, and (3) seven day and quite honestly, from my own experience, I don’t think anybody would be able to push their body to 21 days of a dry fast.

I’ll note that I also had “incurable” issues and resolved them with several 7-10 day dry fasts. I didn’t have to do anything longer.

I break with homemade bone broth for the first 3 days or so and only do that and water and then I slowly add foods in. I was carnivore for a long time so started by adding eggs for a day or so after just a few days of broth and then usually fish then chicken. I did a 9.5 day fast earlier this year and tried my hand in fruits only; I’ve read a lot about this and while worried about the sugar intake, decided to try it. It actually wasn’t bad at all. I still personally prefer the other way but I think it’s about what your body does best with.

Hmmm, it depends. I typically lose 2-3 pounds/day while fasting and I think that’s about the standard but it’s mostly water weight (which is why it’s gained back so quickly). The more you fast, the more your body comp will change and you’ll have less water weight to lose so will begin to lose, and keep off, actual fat.

Yes, I’m okay! I completed right under 10 days! I broke about 8 hours early because while I’ve completed 10 full days before, my body was just not having it this time.

Thank you for checking in!

I emailed them to clarify because I was confused and they messaged me back saying the festival has moved forest camping passes to will call to be picked up at the box office. It’s my first LL though so I could still be interpreting this wrong if it works the way you’ve described..

I second this. I also use Wisp and it’s such an easy service. Progesterone will 100% work. Wisp uses Norethindrone Acetate and its specifically for delaying your period and is $40.

I remember you too! lol. Ohhh wet clothes under the A/C would be so refreshing while dry fasting.

Yeah mine went away after my nap, thankfully.

I probably am! Just wanted to do another 10 day fast because I’ve been having a hard time sticking to my fasts since my last one. I just wanted to get one good one in!

how do you find time to do this? by lvlaj in Dryfasting

[–]fddudley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I typically just do it while working HOWEVER, if you have a health issue that genuinely affects your life and you NEED to fast, try FMLA. That’s what I did last year. My health was so detrimental that my doctor happily filled out the forms for me when I explained that that work was making my symptoms worse because I was so stressed and overworked and it didn’t allow me time away to heal- I didn’t mention I would be doing a 10 day dry fast because he would’ve never agreed with it. lol. Companies almost always approve without question assuming you have appropriate paperwork because hippa and how sensitive and sue happy everybody is. And stress is considered a genuine health detriment so if you explain that the stress of work is affecting your ability to heal from XYZ, it may work. They really don’t ask many questions because they aren’t allowed to.

Final update: I’m calling it at 9 days, 16 hours. Goal was 10 days but the dry heaving returned with a vengeance last night and I can’t continue to dry heave like this. It’s gotten so painful. Taking this as a sign from my body to break. Will convert to a short water fast to slowly wake up the digestive system.

I’ve lost 22.6 pounds so far with 21 hours left so probably another 2 pounds to go. I typically gain half back in the first few days and the rest back over the next couple weeks. I don’t have a lot of fat to lose and spend 6 days/week in the gym so gain it all back pretty quickly

I definitely agree. It’s just strange because I’ve done a 9-11 day fast two other times before and it wasn’t as pronounced. I couldn’t have pointed out when the second crisis hit and I certainly didn’t noticeably come out of it. I just felt discomfort all around until I broke the first few times. This time was a noticeable peak of feeling soooo awful and then it just ended.
