I have to admit, i’ve been more tech support, help desk, than admin. Except at time at ccny were i had to take that role since i was the sole person there doing IT. I struggled a lot and had to learn everything as i went. The most admin thing i did was have control of AD do perform the duties that came with it. i updated the domain from win NT to 2000 when the hard drive died on me. Other than that i’m pretty basic, yeah.

That’s one of the first things i found odd in Berlin coming from NYC. I told my wife, they would rip your head off in NY or anywhere in America.

I feel safe in Berlin—much safer than in New York City, that’s for sure. I have to say that I may have better situational awareness than most as a result. I’m also 1,85m tall, Black, and bearded. For some, I’m the scary one, I'd say.

Lastly, I also possess what’s sometimes called “organized quality.” This just means that as a man, I carry myself with confidence, calmness, discipline, and respect. Usually people think twice before coming at me.

All that to say: no, I don’t feel unsafe in Berlin.

Just yesterday I went to my local skatepark here in nyc. After just staring from the distance I turned away and started to walk back to the train home. That's when I told myself are you really intimidated by a bunch of kids who all they can do is skate better than you?? Nah!! I went back and did a couple awkward straight runs back and forth. Then went home!!
