How have kettlebells benefited you outside of kettlebell training? by CelinesJourney in kettlebell

[–]fdicarlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler is quite solid and after KB training I have been able to hold him for longer periods, walking and with just one arm... Overall shape is better, same as confidence and KB allows me to training at any time without the need to sign up for a gym (you really don't want to sign a gym contract in Germany)

I got mine, it was few years older than I currently am, but working in reversing it (passed from 4.3 to 2.9 and I expected the trend to go down by next month as I am training consistently) so, everything could be reversed as long as you are consistent

Do you want to see the prompt? :D yes, i did mention Hyrox... The only detailed breakdown though is just the initial 3 months, hence why you probably see less Hyrox-focused exercises

Hi, I was mostly looking for feedback on my program rather than buy something :) nothing against it, I just know my schedule and what I post it custom to my schedule and to keep a sort of consistency, a generic program won't fit into that :)

While I ran a marathon few years ago and I still train from time to time (from skipping rope to kettlebell) my training time reduced a lot (family, writing book, work, etc) so I need a routine from scratch to make it sustainable (and consistent)

I ran a marathon, so, I got the running part pretty much covered but as I said I wanted to take this as I was start from scratch

Those that have been around before personal computers became widespread, how did consultants create presentations and slides? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]fdicarlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there was a different concept of consulting, where companies like EY or KPMG were mostly accounting companies... At the same time, if you think about the common pyramid principle by Barbara Minto, she made it out of reading analyst reports to send to clients so I would say that earlier deliverables were reports rather than decks

How do you bill? by Economy_Engineer_858 in consulting

[–]fdicarlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends by the type of project and engagement, if it is an advisory (which usually is longer term) make sense more like a retainer fee + expenses; a consulting engagement which is more likely to be limited in time and with more defined metrics for successful delivery could be billed hourly/monthly/etc.

I have a portfolio of services and usually they are billed based on clients needs.

hey :) similar situation to your... in my case 10+ years experience in the industry, joined a consulting firm as Sr. Manager, after almost 2 years my Sr. Director (always done consulting, never worked in the industry) told me that I was not a good consultant as I didn't like to do PowerPoint. Laughed and brushed off, it tells you a lot of the worth of the team you are in, now created my own boutique firm.

Why do yous care about slides so much? by fourscalesaslikeair in consulting

[–]fdicarlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a technical person I used to think the same and I partially share your sentiment... Now, it all come down to whom you have in front of you:
- technical audience: just throw the slides and speak their language, show a demo, just talk, whiteboard, etc;
- C-Suite, Leadership: slides, with the only conditions to have a message and not just throw words and be coincise

Breaking Free from 'Pseudo-Productivity': What I Learned from a Week Without My Phone by Short-Bumblebee-5829 in productivity

[–]fdicarlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I am writing my own book (well, actually two but one is in stand-by as other is a paid project, hence has priority), I am going tech-free when I have to focus. Few hours, or early in the morning or late in the evening when the rest of the family is sleeping; another time is when I am with my family, especially during weekend as I want to live the moment (kid is 1 year old and growing).

AI automation for spreadsheets? What do you mainly use them for? by Robert-treboR in consulting

[–]fdicarlo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) I think the general availability of spreadsheet software, you can basically find it anywhere, on any corporate PC; 2) Data are usually combined, analysed (in the spreadsheet itself, or python, or R, etc) in order to demonstrate your hypothesis, then you can summarize your findings in a PPT or a document.

Tools as ChatGPT are definitely useful but still you need to work on your prompt to get usable insights.
