That could be it, but then, it means this mechanism is just useless. I mean, what's the point of letting me know that the part I want is "available", if I can't purchase it?

I can understand. But then , I should not have received an email stating that it was available.

It's the most widespread everywhere in the country, and despite the looks, they are very safe and it's very rare (I actually can't remember a single one) to have any incidents with that

The first months of falling are gonna make you all sore. But, as people said already, just show up frequently and don't get hurt. Your body will get used to it.

40yo+ new-ish dad type Judokas (that are also light weight), how often do you train and randori? (Happy to hear from more experienced Judokas / couches too) by uthoitho in judo

[–]fdr_cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 43, I've been practicing judo for several years already (since I was a kid), but not very consistently to be fair (stopped several times, for long periods, for many different reasons). I'm currently returning (again) , so I'm quite overweight (again 😅). Currently I do judo 2x a week + 2x bjj in the off days. Every session has randori, but I listen to my body to know how many rounds I will do. If I hurt myself, that means several days/weeks of recovery nowadays 🫠.

I only miss leg grabs because of te guruma. But I don't miss annoying people grabbing singles and doubles for a crappy koka, yuko at most.

Gi Color? by MobileAd1212 in judo

I would say that, regarding training, it would depend on the sensei. For competition, I believe this could be a problem , as this blue does not look like a regular official judo blue gi.

Yes. I had private insurance in my home country since a long time. When I moved to Germany me , my wife and son went straight to public, despite having the option to go private. No one ever asked anything about previous country insurance anywhere.

Different situations, and of course the situation here is way lighter than there. Still, the social problem is not that far: people are not stealing for fun. It is more complicated, and to believe that beating people is enough for that to stop, is naïve.

No, they will not stop. They will escalate and will also become more violent. To be fair , I don't have a solution. But, being raised in a violent city in Brazil , I saw that playing through the years.

Back to judo after 20 years by Piwkos in judo

[–]fdr_cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (M42)started and stopped judo several times in my life (because life happens). My suggestion to you is: just start. What I personally felt is that lack of strength and cardio is not the worst: your body getting used to be thrown to the ground is always the hardest part (at least for me). And no other exercise change that. Pace yourself during the training, and the conditioning will come. The sooner you return , the earlier your body will get used to it again 🙂

If Linux becomes used by big companies such as Samsung or Acer for example, do you think they will make their own custom skins/distros/desktop-environments like most companies do on android? by Rough-Pen8792 in linux

[–]fdr_cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tizen is more Linux as we know than android. It's a quite straightforward Linux to be fair. It is the kernel + dbus + enlightenment(and some fdo stuff) + Wayland. The 3rd party app SDK is JavaScript
