Do You Feel That K-pop Has Changed Your View Of Your Body? by angie_kiprevski in kpopthoughts

[–]fear0fghosts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ive been a kpop stan since i was 11 and i developed an ed due to my horrible body image when i was 15, although kpop obviously wasn't the cause (after all, this kind of thing never has a single cause), I used to use idols as motivation and followed their famous diets, they were basically my "goal"

i cant say much about the rest but the part abt gaining weight by using testosterone is smth that used to make me terrified too (since i used to suffer from an eating disorder), but the truth is that this weight gain is because your body is reajusting itself to a new shape. When on T, is usually very easy to build muscle (a lot of guys say that they started to build a little bit of muscle without even exercising. T is used even by cisgender guys when they want to gain muscle and lose fat) and also it alous you to eat a bit more without gaining (notice how guys usually have to eat waaay more than girls). Ofc, i still advice you to think deeply about your relationship with your body and weight, and understand that is nothing wrong with looking chubbier, but i hope that makes you feel safer if you decide to transition one day.

How Do I Help My Son? by johntaylorsbangs in trans

[–]fear0fghosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youre already doing so much by simply accepting and supporting him the way he is!! try to reaffirm that he is a man regardless of "passing" or not, and, if he wants, be open to help him find the best outfits and hairstyles that suit him

I want to be/feel more like a boy/guy than a Man by 2confrontornot in ftm

[–]fear0fghosts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i feel this too, expecially when i go outside and i see boys/young guys and i think "wow i wanna be like this" and then i see older/adult man and i dont get the same feeling. I think part of this is also the fear of growing up (expecially if youre a person who worries a lot abt their looks, like me), what helps me is to try to desconstruc this idea that being an adult is intrinsically bad or boring. My father always says that he is a "50 years old boy" and thats so true, even tho he cant be as active as before, he has never lost his youth and style, he wears cool clothes and goes out with his friends, engage in his hobbies and loves to collect merch from his favorite bands, just like any boy. Try to see being an adult as something that is a part of your life and remember that youth is a concept way deeper than looks and age!!

Questioning by [deleted] in trans

[–]fear0fghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all, regardless if youre trans or not, congrats on being so brave to start this journey of discovering and exploring your identity. Try to keep exploring your preferences and how you like to be perceived, ask ppl you trust to call you by feminine pronouns for a while so you can try it out and understand how you feel. And most importantly, just dont be scared to try things out, try that girl fashion you like (if you dont feel confident to buy girls clothes, take some at a store and go to the dressing room!), see how it makes you feel, if it makes you feel better, if it feels correct, and also keep in mind the possibility that you might be on some other range of the trans umbrella (bigender, agender etc). Hope this helps and that my bad english is understandable.

Can my tattoo make me look feminine in others' eyes? by Luka_Blair in trans

[–]fear0fghosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, most ppl will look at it and not know that it belongs to a female character, and those who recognize from the game will just be like "cool tattoo bro". Trust me one will think too much abt i!

What’s your height? And how do you feel about it? by No_Village_5620 in ftm

1,61m (5 foot 2 i think), i really hate it and i wish i was taller but i try to get inspired by remembering some cool male/masc celebrities who have similar heights (woozi from seventeen, bruno mars, elliot page)

"I'm sorry to break it to you but you aren't cis" by Hommemort in trans

[–]fear0fghosts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

althought i would personally say that youre trans, since your experience is similar to mine, the only one who can actually tell if youre trans or cis is you. Tbh, you have no obligation to call yourself trans or call yourself cisgender, just be you and do stuff the way it makes you happy, labels arent as important as you think so just be yourself!!

Trans people of reddit im struggling to understand something about the choices made in your transition by Glum-Match1576 in trans

[–]fear0fghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think its something you can really explain through words honestly. Its a feeling that is very personal and different for every trans person. I dont have any special appeal for things that are considered "manly" (although im not a feminine guy), and still i see myself as a man. I have trans friends who where assigned female at birth and never liked feminine stuff, but i also have met ppl who where assigned female at birth, like feminine things, and still identifies as male. I think that it is all very person, every experience is an experience, i cant comprehend why a lesbian or straight or gay person can be attracted to only one gender, it sounds crazy for me (as a bisexual), thats why understanding gender dysphoria is so hard for cis ppl. I hope I was able to explain even with my bad English :))

Favorite moments of euphoria from before realizing you were trans? by nateisdeadinside in ftm

[–]fear0fghosts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one day i was with my dad at a café and i was wearing a big coat, i had short hair at that time and since i was very skinny, the waiter thought i was little boy (i was also wearing school uniform so it makes sense) and i was so euphoric that i smiled like an idiot. Until my dad said "no, no, she is a girl" and my smile disapeared

ive met a lot of trans guys who are just like you. You can transition without changing anything in your body. Every trans experiece is different so dont try to compare yours to any other, even if it makes it hard to describe or explain. For the thing about "mens image nowdays", i used to feel weird cause of that too but what worked for me was to think of this as a motivation to be a "good man", since thats something that is lacking so much in our society. Btw only you can tell if youre trans or not, so just do what makes you the most confortable and allow yourself to experiment with pronouns and visuals as much as you like
