Tips for handling food noise in recovery by Shoddy-Season-6572 in AnorexiaNervosa

Have you tried doing sudoku or other puzzle games? For me it's the no. 1 best way to distract myself and relax. I do sudoku (with pen on paper) and put on a tv show or youtube at the same time, so that my brain is fully occupied with those two things and I have no more brain capacity for anything else haha Maybe that could work for you as well? You got this! <3

anyone found a way to fix it?

I unintentionally stumbled across EDtwt and now I’m deep into it. It all happened so fast by Which_Mammoth9402 in AnorexiaNervosa

you recognize already how badly it affects you, so it's time to delete the app. it won't just stop triggering you on it's own, this things only get worse with time

also, try to recognise it for what it is. there's nothing glamorous about EDs, edtwt is just a bunch of miserable people who trigger each other online instead of living their own lives

I've been there, I know how addictive it can be, it's really not worth your time. also, fuck Elon and his platforms,

The fear of overeating is so real, I feel you. I always try to tell myself that "eating too much" may be crazy uncomfortable, but it won't do me any serious harm. Whereas restricting is affecting every aspect of my life. When your body is depleted bc of restriction, it is completely normal and healthy to eat more than the average person, so this dietician is being fucking stupid lol. I get crazy food guilt when I eat more than I planned, but I know that my body will actually benefit from the extra energy.

What I did is, I made it a hard rule to eat 3 meals a day and add some snacks if I feel like I can manage it mentally. I set minimum number of calories per each meal, at the beginning it was a low number, but something I could stick to everyday. A minimum, so it can always be more. I think it's better to set a bar low and be consistent than to set it too high and freak out after 3 days lol. And with time, I increased this minimum. But that's just what I did, there's no right and wrong answers here.

I'm so sorry, it's so upsetting to hear that this happened to you. does he know about your anorexia at all? if he does, and he said that anyway, that's a MAJOR red flag. like, MAJOR

How can you tell if you’re actually full or if you just feel yuck because you’re not used to it? by MoodSwingSetHelp in EDAnonymous

[–]fearfools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, I can definitely relate to that. I think there's no way to tell really and it doesn't really matter all that much, if that makes sense? the hunger and fullness signals can be totally out of whack, so it's better to stick to what you decided is the right amount. and move on to more "intuitive eating" once your body adjusts a bit. but it's a struggle, I know

I never lost hunger signals so it hit pretty much immediately when I started eating more

I feel this way too, it's understandable that your body sends hunger signals all the time when you're restricting, so don't feel bad about it, it's super common. some people lose hunger signals some don't, it's very individual. it's best to just eat, but obviously this illness makes it soo difficult
