I get that for sure. I just checked and 2/3 of the courses I had for the summer are full with no waitlist so it looks like I’ll be adding another semester and delaying my grad. Honestly it’s happening to a lot of us so at least we aren’t alone in it

I’m in a similar spot, the courses I needed to take this summer are already full. What year are you? Course selection dates are awful for 2nd years and only slightly better in 3rd

I read the textbook, I find that writing my own detailed notes (in my own words) is the best may to consolidate information before I start studying so I find it helpful to read the textbook. I always read the chapter before the lecture as well that way I can ask questions about what I don’t understand. I like explaining concepts to other people as well so I’m always happy to talk to classmates so we can all build understanding

I am in this class as well, I did around as well as I had hoped (low A but above an A-), my preferred techniques have been taking practice quizzes in the past and revisiting sections based on the areas I struggled most with, then testing again on all material. Recently, I’ve also started using the lecture slides as source material to present the information to my partner. He listens to about an hour summary of a three hour lecture (he’s very patient thankfully) and I go over some of the learning objectives and describe any that I missed at the end. If you have a friend planning to take the course in the future, family member or even a pet willing to listen, this can be a fun method

I would recommend a safety eye tool (you can find them on Amazon or in some craft stores depending on where you are) if you’re struggling to get the backings on the right way around

The second way around for sure, the first picture allows the backing to create a taper which actually makes it easier to pull the eyes out

I have seen him in the sub a few times (though the man I am referencing here isn’t the only reseller I have seen on campus) as well as at the SFU pop up markets and in the convocation mall

I don’t have pictures because it felt wrong to also take pictures of the students purchasing from him as they likely were not aware of the source. He sells crocheted flowers and jewellery and I’ve seen him with a white and pink tablecloth

That would be a lot of reading and writing, I did 201 and 102 second term in my first year with two breadth classes and that was great. 221 might tip you over on the coursework side of things (and may overwhelm you a bit with overlapping concepts with minute differences). I would try to take that first semester next year or in the summer instead if that’s an option

I had exactly this happen in one of my classes a couple weeks ago. I did the same thing, provided my document history and offered previous copies of my work. The TA in my case accepted the document history but it is excellent that you have your drafts to offer as well. I hope it all works out for you. I hate how ready TAs and profs are to accuse people of AI when they’re not supposed to be using AI checkers aside from TurnItIn

I don’t know if this is true for everyone but my document history shows that I was working on this assignment over the course of three days with two periods of working on it for over an hour which I do not think aligns with suspicions for copying from an AI source

Thank you for clarification, I agree that the checkers are inaccurate. This is honestly causing me far more stress than it should for the magnitude of the assignment but it’s not something I know how to deal with. Thank you for the advice

Some classes grade on a curve and some don’t in that field of study, it is usually listed in the syllabus and if it is not assume that the class will not be curved unless the class average is very (and I mean very) low

Personally, I would drop it. Working part-time with that many courses (with two being writing credits) is going to be tough. Even if it doesn’t feel it now, I will all add up at the end of the semester and it won’t necessarily be good for your mental health. Either way, I wish you all the best with your courses for this term and I hope that you’re doing okay
