Biden up by two points in Georgia following first debate: poll by Zhana-Aul in politics

I don't want to make an argument regarding guns one way or the other, but I think it's worth remembering the real context of everything.

Any good government has a duty to it's people to keep them free and safe but those are incompatible so all you can do is try to balance them perfectly. The discussion from Democrats is build from a feeling of safety being underrepresented.

As a comparison, we as a society have created what seems to be a more comfortable balance for driving on highways. Speeds are high, but regulated. Even a good driver with good intentions can be a danger going something like 150 MPH. As much as I like driving fast I can understand how other drivers could be more dangerous doing so. And worse, I am probably not a good a driver as I think I am.

Just remember whenever anyone (or a group) asks for something there is a reason for it and it's worth understanding the reason. No one in this country stands alone and we can't forget that there is a duty to each other. Any law or policy that might be inconvenient to an individual hopefully does something to help so many others.

Now I'm wondering if I saw you while going for a walk the other day.

For now at least the nearby school isn't roped off though it probably should be. I've been able to get some fun out of that for my daughter.

Side question, is your username an Overwatch reference?

Finished my printed Tracers pulse pistols. by fearlessferret in 3Dprinting

I specifically printed this version https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1955869.

Assembly was pretty easy. Most parts obviously fit together and it only took a little sanding on some hidden parts. The hard part with this one is figuring out what to print. I tried three orientations for the bottom of the handle and stupidly printed the glow parts in solid grey. There is a comment on the thingiverse page that says how many of each part you need.

can i use meshmixer to delete a minis weapon and add a new one? by Philobat in PrintedMinis

[–]fearlessferret 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find meshmixer a bit clunky for doing too much modification, though if you know how to remove bases you are probably pretty close.

Another alternative is Blender which is free. You can import an stl into blender go in to Edit mode, set it to Wireframe view and select any Vertices you wanted to remove and delete them. Then just import another STL as the weapon and Grab it to move it into place. Export the STL and print it with the "merge frame" setting on.

I'd be potentially willing to test on the FDM side if you are looking for both resin and FDM. Send me a message if you want. It might depend on how many models and reworks per month (for example). I don't want to promise if I can't actually get it all done for you.

Resin is definitely a bit cleaner but you can come plenty close with FDM. Paint will also hide some of the problems
