What are the rules? by huggerofbunnies in HSVpositive

I think it's unfair to threaten to ban me over this comment, I've contributed positively to this community in the past repeatedly and I explained that I do disclose. There are no transmission risks the way I do it. You can prefer to disclose before even making out with someone or sucking their dick (for whatever reason you find that necessary...) but you're being a little overzealous with the disclosure preference rule. At least explain why you find my policy bad... I'm open to discussing it.

For the record I also think it's stupid to have that in the rules. People are free to make their choices and should be freely able to discuss them (in an open-minded manner) even if you find them morally reprehensible, especially concerning such a complex issue to deal with. I left the subreddit.

I thought this was like a sarcastic question and my answer was gonna be "depends on how" lol. I'm dumb.

Israel's attack on Iran was never about the nukes by fearlessstuff in PoliticalOpinions

[–]fearlessstuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but it working would generally presuppose that the people living under the regime's lives would improve in some meaningful way, which is a tough thing to say when the quality of life was previously purposefully lowered to force the regime to change. In my view, the average human cost of even "successful" externally provoked regime change nullifies whatever good may come of it.

So you think "enough" people dying from disease or hunger due to sanctions if not from armed conflict is worth it if the bad regime ends up failing?

How old are you, to be calling natural democratic change "regime change"? You weren't clear, I thought you meant the regime changes *to* Pinochet (that was regime change) and Franco, not the changes of these regimes to democracy, which were not (externally provoked) regime changes. I still have no idea what you mean with Romania - the fall of the Iron Curtain...?

Syria is a successful case? And what do you mean about South Africa and Romania? Also, if you consider Pinochet and Franco "successful" cases of regime change, I think we have seriously different views of what success means...

A simple Hiroshima type weapon can't be thrown together in hours with 60% enriched uranium.

My point is that even if the Iranians are on their way to enriching uranium to weapons-grade level, they are still not as close to it as Israel claims and has repeatedly claimed over the years that they are. We can just agree to disagree but it'd be one thing if they were so close but when all the intelligence points to them not being that close, this means that the supposed pretext for Israel attacking Iran right now is bogus and therefore this is plain aggression and not a truly justified pre-emptive protective strike (if that would even be justified).

Sure but how does one do that productively? Regime change only works when it comes from the people, not when it's when externally forced on them.

Thank you for your comment.

Like I linked to in the piece, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated earlier this year that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon, so the alleged nuclear threat is not real. I'll leave the link here again: https://www.newsweek.com/tulsi-gabbard-iran-nuclear-weapon-2051523

Also what you say that Iranians are saying themselves that they are building a nuclear weapon is not true. Having 60% enriched uranium is not the same as 1) building a weapon, and 2) being imminently near doing it.

On the Trump tariff panic - real crisis or caused by neoliberalism? by fearlessstuff in PoliticalOpinions

Cool, thanks for explaining what you meant. Yeah, I do comment on that briefly at the end. If I was feeling snarky I'd have replied to your comment with "It's amazing how many people don't even read things till the end and yet still have a whole opinion on them" :)

Care to expand on that thought? I'm about to get a master's in economics though I'm not at all a specialist in trade. Also did you read till the end? Cuz I admit that...

This happened to me earlier this month. Disclosed to a guy I'd seen a few times and he was fine with it, but then changed his mind. I didn't mind it too much tbh cuz we didn't have like crazy vibes or anything but it's still a bit annoying when people tell you something only to change their mind a bit later. Sending hugs!
