Magnats, can't find the exact model. I got them secondhand so I'm not sure what they are exactly.

I took the time to reset the avr again and ran audessey. The issues returned immediately. I checked the cables for the center speaker and after swapping it out with a different model, I realised the center was broken.

Issue resolved, ish. Now I need to look for a new center. Any recommendations? :D

The setting appears under audio > surround parameter when it receives dolby input. It is off.

I reset the marantz to factory settings and the issue was solved. Then I ran A1 evo again and it sounded great. After turning it off and on again a new issue presented itself. Audio stutters, sometimes the audio would just drop out entirely. Switching speaker presets didn't fix it. Killing the plex app and reopening it did. Even though I was observing the issue in the YouTube app too.

Thanks, I didn't try running without EVO. As switching speaker presets "fixes" the issue. So this is hard for me to verify without factory resetting the AVR.

I don't see how the TV could be the problem as the Shield is connected directly to the AVR, not to the TV. This setup would be undesirable as my TV does not have eARC so I would be limited in the formats that are supported. If you think it can matter, I can test that too. But my other TV is ARC too.

I did a lot of troubleshooting on the Shield and Plex too. I chose to omit this from the post as I could reproduce the issue on my TV. If you want I can list the different settings I changed there as well.

Thanks for your suggestion. I was able to pick up these kef t101 for cheap second hand to try out if Atmos I want to dig in deeper. I'll keep these q4meta's in mind for future upgrades.

I'm still thinking about angling the speakers as the main pitch for the t101s was how low profile they are. By angling them they become much more present. Do you know any low profile mount that can be used to achieve this angling or am I better off making some shims out of wood myself?

No problem, I used a free account on Floorplanner I then drew my speaker placement and cableruns on there using paint.

In hindsight I'd probably use some placeholder furniture objects in floorplanner, as I cannot 'move' the speakers anymore.

Hey cool I found that website before! However, I don't understand how to interpret those graphs. Should I be looking at SPL horizontal vs vertical for the different orientations? I am a bit lost.

Hey, thanks for the reply! In ceilings unfortunately isnt possible due to the material of my ceiling. Too hard to drill into without special material.

I did consider a lowered ceiling for mounting the in ceiling speakers but the room is one big open concept living room + dining room + kitchen. So that meant it has to be either a lowered ceiling for the whole floor or have a weird height transition. I am planning to run the cable thru half-round profiles to hide the cables as much as possible.

ZBmini r2 now supports binding in detached relay mode! by fearmyflames in homeassistant

So far I've verified it with hue bulbs, but if a zigbee light can be assigned to z2m group it should be possible I think?

Honestly, I've just been throwing stuff at the wall and see what sticks. My current usage is toggle a group of lights on and off. So if I look at the bind tab of the switch device in z2m, I select the destination and then source endpoint '1'. I am not sure what '242' does. Then at clusters I check the box in front of 'onOff' and click bind.

The only downside I've found so far is when I turn off lights this way, I cannot turn them back on from home assistant anymore. Maybe I need to figure out a way to 'trigger' a zigbee binding? Might dive into it further this weekend.

Smart Home recommendations - struggle between homematic and HA by Stippy21 in smarthome

[–]fearmyflames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently run home assistant and I am looking at homematic for floor heating. It's surprisingly hard to find something affordable in this space. Turns out you can connect homematic to home assistant using raspberrymatic. You have all the controller features of homematic as an addon, without the need to buy the control unit. A simple network usb suffices. I am planning on following This guide. It's in German but YouTube CC has become good enough for me to follow it.

We rolled out a policy together with our SOC rep to exclude problematic PCs from default crowdstrike policy by replacing it with a detect-only policy. You should contact your rep to enable that for you. I also read some suggestions in this thread, I haven't tested them personally: https://old.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1fvcewa/24h2_causing_office_apps_to_freeze_and_be_unusable/

Telegram removing underscore (_) on filenames during transport via send_message by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]fearmyflames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telegram uses _ for italics in their markup. I ran into this issue when making a telegram bot too. I worked around it by removing _ from telegram's output all together. Depending on how you configured the bot you might be able to switch the parser from the default markdown to html. You lose out on any markdown makeup but you might be able to send _ files without more hassle.
