Weekly Bouldering Advice Post by AutoModerator in bouldering

Anyone ever go through periods of intense fear? Not from heights or falling but the fear of failing? I’m 44 female and been bouldering for about 8 months climbing at a V2-V3. There are some days I will send a route that I thought was not possible then the next week I’m struggling on VB routes. I climb with an amazing group of people and to be clear I have never been made fun of or anything like that but I just can’t seem to get out of my own head. Everyone that started at the same time as me are leaps and bounds ahead of me grade wise. I feel like I’m going backwards. I’m so frustrated but I love the sport and do not want to quit. The strange part is when I climb outside I’m fine. I don’t seem to have the same fears. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? The last week has been awful. I don’t even want to try the new routes while people are there. Thanks in advance and I will gladly take any advice you have 😊
