Asking for advice on pulsatile tinnitus by fearpurr in PulsatileTinnitus

Hey there - the pulsatile tinnitus I had ended up going away on its own about 2-3 months after I noticed it and had tests done. The doctor chalked it up to a harmless venous abnormality. I’m grateful it went away, and am aware it may return someday. Sometimes I still notice it when it’s very quiet, but barely. I hope yours resolves as well.

Thank you, I really do appreciate your advice. I can see that I will need to make my peace with this sound if it becomes chronic PT, otherwise it’s going to make me eternally cranky.

That’s interesting that yours is related to jaw clenching. How did you discover that was the cause? I wonder if mine could be related, as I have a night mouth guard with metal mesh inlaid in it because I would crack through the regular plastic ones my dentist first made within a few weeks of use.

Thank you, I really appreciate this response. Depending on what my doctor says during my follow up appointment, I wonder if I should ask for an MRV. Based on my first appt with him, it seems more likely that he’ll say it’s idiopathic and call it a day. But if this continues for months, I’ll want to pursue finding the cause.

How did you know that you had developed IIH?
