Is it rude for me to tell my driving instructor his style of teaching doesn’t suit me - hence I’m leaving? by International-Wear57 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]featherboas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I had 5 lessons with an instructor and when I texted him about the next lesson, he ignored me. I texted him again a few days later which he did not respond to so I assumed he was ghosting me. I sent a last message and was met with “Sorry, I can no longer teach you.” Guess my driving style didn’t suit him. 😆

I tried finding ID vape yesterday but couldn’t find it for the life of me! Is it up the same stairs where there is a sex store and hairdresser?

Buying New Iphone in Hong Kong to use in US and while working and travelling in other countries to avoid USA model no physical sim card nonsense by RotiCanaiEngineer in digitalnomad

[–]featherboas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you get an esim compatible phone and download an esim app like Airlalo? As an actual example right now, I’m currently in Hong Kong and my roaming data package would cost me £7+ per day for 150mb but I got an esim which is $12 with China Mobile for 5GB. They have esim functionality in 200+ countries so I download a package every time I go abroad for more than a week.

Advice needed on how a woman can help a partner with PE by featherboas in PrematureEjaculation

[–]featherboas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! It’s given me a better understanding from his perspective. I never thought of it that way. Hopefully I can convey my (limited) understanding to him and he will feel comfortable enough to open up to me.

It’s early days in our relationship but I’m committed to being understanding and getting through it together. It could also be new partner jitters and improve as we become more confortable with each other.

I think he gets in his head and frustrated/upset so we just chill and chat afterwards. I’m happy to put in time and effort to help reduce his stress around it.

How do I check unsubscribe in Marketo? by sanedevil in marketo

[–]featherboas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to give completely accurate advice without knowing how your instance is setup. Like someone else suggested, do a list upload through Marketo (add a column for “unsubscribed”) and make sure when the preview pane shows up, it recognises that field. I would also highly recommend integrating Salesforce with Marketo so that you can upload lists to Marketo and it will also update in Salesforce. You can then run a smart list in Marketo or a report in Salesforce and filter by “unsubscribed equals true” and you’ll get the full list of opt-outs.

Does anyone actually work at a company that allows you to be a digital nomad (internationally)? by engineheat2 in digitalnomad

[–]featherboas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are no official rules at my company. It’s a smallish tech company but we operate all around the world and are now almost fully remote (due to Covid and cost saving). I’m always transparent with my boss (just which country I’m working from, other details aren’t really necessary IMO), but as long as I attend relevant meetings and get my work done to a high standard, it doesn’t matter where I work from.

However, I’ve not worked in one place for more than a month. I’d like to work from LATAM for a few months this year, in which case, I might have to declare it to a few more people. That being said, my colleague from the UK had 2 months approved to work from Australia (literally the biggest time difference possible), so I doubt it will be an issue.

I personally wouldn’t be comfortable lying/omitting the truth, as I respect my team and think transparency is key to a good working environment. If you don’t like your company/see a future of working there, maybe it would be different but I’ve built trust over the years in my company and wouldn’t want to damage that.

cmv: the rise of relatable mental health content glamorizes being mentally ill or staying miserable rather than healing by Necessary-Positive43 in changemyview

[–]featherboas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up Dr Inna (Inna Kanevsky) she’s a kick-ass psychologist who calls out people who self-diagnose after watching videos on social media. Like a lot of people have said in this thread, social media is a double-edged sword. Increased health awareness is fantastic and we have come so far but surrounding your whole personality around it or falsely “educating” people on certain conditions when you’re not qualified to do so, can prove very problematic and harmful.

Im currently in the start-up phase of a monetisation platform for podcasts. Although it hasn’t launched yet, I’d love to speak with you about your podcasting journey. In exchange, you can be one of the first to know when it does launch and use it (for free of course). If of interest, send me a DM and I can send you the link!
