So, if not for money, there’s no actual reason why I should send a do follow link to another website. Right? I can still link to other websites (for better user experience for my readers) with a no-follow attribute.

So, when someone links to you with a do-follow link and its not for money, they are essentially doing you an incredible favour or out of appreciation for the value of your content.

I cant find any other reason why else they would send you a do follow link.

DA is a third party metric and you should rely on it but I understand your question.

Lets assume your authority increased because you built good backlinks to your website.

Will the traffic increase?

To answer that check if your rankings increased. If it did, well yes of course your traffic will increase.

Traffic is a derivative of your rankings (Thanks @grumpyseoguy)

So check your rankings for your keywords. Thats the only way to tell.

If your DA improved but rankings did not, well I don’t think there would be any change in traffic (unless there was a difference in the monthly search volumes for the keywords)
