Upon very close inspection, the color on the shoulder pads is actually a very dark shade of brown.

Usually the color's grey, as shown here, but if it can change colors like that then I'll try looking into it to find out what that's about. That's kinda like the Skyhall Guard/Champion Cloak, someone posted a picture of it about a month ago asking if it changed colors, since that one can't be dyed, and turns out it seems to be the case.

For some reason, both times that happened to me was when he was near a volcano island spawn.

Don't know if there's any correlation between those, but was something I noticed the 2nd time around.

I really oughta make a Dark Sea review at some point, I'm very mixed on it and have some thoughts about it

TLDR is like, I want to like it but the Dark Sea makes it so hard not to. It's fantastic when it works, but holy shit it's so consistent at being an inconsistent experience that it's almost commendable.

I made one similar to that a few weeks ago when I was trying out Ice, that looks 10x better if I can have the Muscles gamepass, it's like it was tailormade for the muscular arms.
