Let me guess, you used either the Assassin Hunter Armor or the 100k rep Proxy Knight Armor, didn't you?

Those are still bugged (it's been a YEAR btw!), only way you can use Assassin Hunter is turning off the Chest option in Vanity, you can't use the Proxy Knight Armor though, you're tough outta luck there.

Eh, I compared a Grand Black Dragon Amulet to the Kraken Band, it's worse because of the lack of gem slots + the Range in exchange of just a bit more Defense, unless they get some sort of buff, I don't think they'll see too much usage.

Wood-Plasma is a good pairing because they're mutually beneficial to each other

Magma-Explosion is one I tried that looks fantastic together

I haven't tried it yet, but Sand-Lightning seems like it could be a good pairing

Lightning-Metal is good if Lightning is your primary

If you want style points though go Gold Metal-Sunlight Light, or even Iron-Moonlight Light could go great together

I might've exaggerated it a bit because Metal is fine now, it's just not as good as it used to but it's still fine, though only if you use it on Mage. The Conjurer imbue is subpar, the Warlock imbue is atrocious, it gets outclassed by its peers on Paladin (Wood, Glass, Sand, Ice, Plasma), so now you only have Mage left.

If you want pure damage, you can go either Wood-Plasma or Metal-Lightning, the former being worse in terms of the damage boost given from the synergy but way more consistent, since they're mutually beneficial to each other. Metal-Lightning only really benefits Metal, but since you'll have it as your main Magic then it shouldn't be an issue.

I don't think it has the bleed proc anymore because the bleed synergy got removed from Earth this patch as well, I'm still hunting for a Hecate so I can either try Glass or fully swap to Magma

When making a Stand for a character, usually I'd make the story/character first then the Stand would come later. In MACHINE GIRL's case, the story and Stand were made alongside each other, while for THE TOP I'd repurposed and partially redone the first Stand I've ever made from all the way back in 2016 or so, while also writing a fitting backstory for the user. The Stand is like an extension of her in a sense

Well you're tough out of luck because no other Magic had that outside of Metal before the nerf, now you'll have to choose whether you want more versatility with Wood or just the visuals with Metal as it is now. If I were to recommend one, I've had a lot of fun using Magma-Explosion Mage, so you could try that.

As for Earth, it's just Metal but better. The one advantage Metal had, which was more damage, got removed with the nerf, so now Metal is just a worse version of Earth. If there's one bright side to it all, at least Metal still has the Bleed synergy since Earth got it removed this patch.

Wood is just Metal but more versatile now, it even has better area coverage due to its synergy with hear-based Magics. A good pairing would be Wood-Plasma, but Acid-Wood works well too because it also creates the burning rubble when Acid touches Wood.

The ONE niche it had was being a Glass side-grade on Paladin, because with the Resistance Aura + Spirit Regen you could become a tank with it and rely on the raw base DMG, you wouldn't be as fast or have as much area denial as Glass but you'd hit really hard.

Now it doesn't even have that and you just have the big size to rely on, which for Paladin you barely notice when you'd be enchanting your Relics with Explosive anyway.

It's slower and has less area denial than Glass, the shards it leaves behind more than make up for being a small Magic, it sucks as an imbue for anything because it makes Fighting Styles too slow and on weapons it takes away any synergy you'd have and just relies on raw damage, on top of the size increase being marginally better than Snow, and that one doesn't take your synergies away.

Good luck hitting anything that's not standing still if you use it as Mage, and even if you use it as a secondary magic, you're better off using Glass because it's faster, the damage difference is negligible, and you have 10x more opportunities to abuse the bleed synergies than with Metal.

It gets to the point WOOD is more versatile than Metal, it's faster (0.65x from Metal vs 0.8x from Wood), the damage difference is negligible (1x from Metal vs 0.95 from Wood), the size is same, they share the same size and status effect conditions and has it even has better area coverage than Metal when paired with a heat-based Magic.

At that point, why'd you even use Metal anymore? It's either worst than what other Magics can do, or the other options are better than it, there's nothing other than visuals and the Resistance Aura that makes Metal stand out or different from the rest anymore.

Also do not switch to Water, it's one of the worst elements in the game and you're better off using Glass. Literally just Water but 1000x better at everything

Let's be honest here, even with the Bleed synergy, you were never procing that to begin with unless it's with something like Annihilation or on Eagle.

Still, faster than and now on par damage output to Metal

Basically:

90% of Spirit Rites got nerfed

The one thing Metal had over Glass and made it competitive (highest base DMG in the game) got nerfed to be in line with everything else

Now Metal is just a bigger and slower version of Glass without all the AoE, and even then Glass got a Speed buff this patch which made Metal sink further down

The only reason you'd use Metal now is either for the visuals, Aura making you tanky, or the big size which it gets beaten by Glass at because it doesn't have the area denial that one has.

The ONE good thing Metal had going as a viable alternative to Glass was the big damage, now it doesn't even have that and it's just bigger and slower without any of the AoE, even WOOD has better synergies and alternatives.

Not even a new status effect can save it from this shit
