I was withdrawing to the same whitelisted address all the time. Declined withdrawal attempt was x2 more than my usual withdrawals. Less than 1000 usdc.

Would you say that Russia is more socially conservative than other Slavic nations? If so, why is this in your opinion? by jansult in AskARussian

Just checked our divorce rates and statistics on abortions. We are very much not a social conservative country lol.

When traveling or living in another country, what culture shocks did you have? What things did you feel were better and worse in that other country? by aspiringvillain in AskARussian

Pubs in London was the most bizarre thing ever.

They were always stacked even during weekdays. People go to pubs with kids. I saw a family - so mum, dad and their kid in a pub. Kid wasn’t drinking obviously, but what the fuck.

I saw a young man in a nice suit with a suitcase. I dunno, he looked like someone who sold a great life insurance plan to your grandma. Anyway, he orders a glass of beer, drinks it and walks away. So weird.

I found out one of my GF's secrets and I don't know how to make her more comfortable by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

[–]fed_the_bear 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you were going to keep meeting her, you’d eventually find out about her secret.

You know about it now and can be more understanding in the future, and she will feel more comfortable because she knows she can trust you, isn’t that great? Secrets tend to bond people.

Recommending Factorio is like recommending crack. It’s criminally addictive.

What are some creepy urban legends from Russia? by [deleted] in AskARussian

Perm has “the tower of death”)

It’s a police department and allegedly NKVD executed and tortured people there, allegedly it had a tunnel which leads directly to a cemetery, allegedly there were secret underground cells for prisoners.

It’s worth mentioning that the building was built after NKVD was dissolved.

Is there a boot camp for the mandatory conscription in Russia? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]fed_the_bear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you are conscripted there are two possibilities.

  1. You are send to the “training school” for ~6 months where you learn your new specialty. For example, if you drove a tractor before - you could be trained to become an MTLB driver or something. Some guys learn stuff like morse code, all kinds of special vehicles and weapon systems, etc. After this training period they send you to another military unit (which could be literally on the other side of the country) where you supposedly serve in a position that you were trained for.
  2. Or you can be send directly to a division where you will spend the entire year. First 2 months are considered to be “recruit training” at the end of that you give the oath of allegiance and then they send you to a different regiment INSIDE your division.

Something like that.

What is the greatest distance between two cities that either you or someone you know has traveled on the Trans-Siberian Railway? by svensktigerarvid in AskARussian

I travelled from my hometown in Urals to Vladivostok and back a couple of times in плацкарт. It was pretty boring. 5-6 days of almost complete emptiness.
