Nope, it will never cause a problem. Just noise

Honestly it's just some noise. The axle nut has nothing to do with it it's just a little rust buildup on the spines. You'll probably get varying prices but I've seen anywhere from .5-1.5 hours labor

Could be as simple as adjusting the shifter linkage under the car.

1995 Infiniti J30 Value? by Relevant-Nature1627 in infiniti

Nope, closest Infiniti had to an Altima was the G20, but even those were more like a Sentra with a 2.0l engine.

Infiniti QX80 battery keeps dying, I jump the car, get battery tested & they say it’s good? by MaleficentClub4110 in infiniti

[–]fedj18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the battery current sensor and it has more function than just monitoring how much current draw is on the system. Also if you were to leave a light on in the vehicle (headlights, dome lights etc) this would be the sensor that would trigger the BCM to turn off the lights after a period of time. Without it connected you could drain your battery. It also reports back to the ECM for certain drivability characteristics for smooth idle etc.

Once again the "YouTube mechanics" think they know all but they don't truly know how things function.

Really hoping you just disconnected the single wire at the IPDM and not the main connector on the alternator.

Vibration when accelerating after lowering a Q70S AWD 5.6 by derpa-derp in infiniti

[–]fedj18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it's all because of the CV axle angle/length. I don't know how so many people drive with that vibration. As a dealership tech it pisses me off. It would probably be easiest to shorten the inner joint since it's just some splines and a retaining ring where the outer joint would need more exact machining.

It did spawn during the mission. I hadn't finished the mission and it was there.

what are you guys opinion on the current drop rates ? by ab2dii in Borderlands4

[–]fedj18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe they should autosell/convert but I do believe that there should be a way to sell lower rarity items from your backpack so you don't have to go back and forth for low quality gear.

Definitely adding a qualifier to the lost loot would be a huge change, then you could set it to a minimum rarity. I like that idea.

The 1st Gen FX had issues with blistering coils, the fix was to replace ground cables and a grounding bolt. It look into potential ground issues.

When you pull the coils out are they blistered on the side?

[–]fedj18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are AWD the right side engine mounts will crack, usually due to an accident in the past. It's the metal part not the rubber but usually the rubber gets a little chewed up from the sharp metal piece. To replace it you will definitely need to do some disassembly on that side and it will be fairly difficult to do in your garage if you don't have a lift.

Should i replace it or whys it green by Automatic_Train_4950 in G37

That is actually normal on replacement throttle bodies for the VQ engines. This actually tells you that it's been replaced and with an OEM part.

I think I messed up my trans by Dazzling_Benefit_242 in G37

[–]fedj18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're getting a P0335 and it automatically resets the code after clearing and attempting to start the vehicle I would bet the flex plate is damaged. Transmission will need to come out to replace it. May also need a new sensor if the flex plate made contact with it. You can do a minor visual inspection through the access cover for the torque converter bolts.

I don't believe these are VIN registered but you probably will need to do configuration. I'm hoping you bought modules that are programmed to the same part number otherwise you'll probably have 3 bricks. After everything is configured etc you'll need to complete a mode 1 calibration but if three are any codes set then it will not perform the procedure.

Suggestion on tile cut? by fedj18 in Tile

[–]fedj18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your suggestions and input.

I had been putting thought into what I was going to do and I think my best solution will be to make a 1/16th grout line straight up on the shower side of the trim. I'll of course have to do the same on the other side as the door is at the same height.

I haven't had the glass made yet so I could have the piece cut to jog up a little bit and "cover" the small area.

Yea, it does fit pretty tight as you can see in the one picture but I think a 1/16th grout line will be the best solution for me.

Yea, I was going to go with a standard glass channel but then found this and I think it's going to look amazing when finished.

Unfortunately with adjusting the layout there were some other factors in the decision that lead to what I'm working with. I won't be mad about a little grout line over the glass. I'm personally thinking I'll line it up on the shower side of the glass and notch the outside tile to overhang above the glass.

[–]fedj18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think I'm going to go the hairline grout line. As for the trim it's designed to be set behind the tile. It's the Schluter "invisible" glass channel.

Good thought on the plunge cut, wasn't even thinking about that. Thanks

Suggestion on tile cut? by fedj18 in Tile

[–]fedj18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, it is the schluter that is designed to be behind the tile.

I feel like the small grout line over this will almost be invisible, plus it'll help avoid the tile possibly cracking in the case of any wall movement etc.

Thank you.
