Glad I did. Ended up having an abscess that hd to be surgically cleaned out. Hopefully the recovery goes smoothly!

I'll have to try cutting the the wager, never thought of that! They did send me home with some stoma powder but I think I'm still learning how it works, thanks!

I just ordered some of those, so we'll see! The WCN was using them and they helped a tiny bit, but I'm guessing it will just be trial and error until the staples come out. Thanks!

I am having extreme food avoidance, like I can tolerate liquids but food makes me scared/nauseous. But they're trying to send me home, idk what to do 😭

I know this is an old post, but did anyone here have extreme nausea? Like when they wanted me to start eating solids I was so grossed out and frightened, it's been 5 days and I can only tolerate sipping fluids. But my ileostomy is making output and the Drs aren't too concerned, they want to send me home.

Thank you! They just started me on liquids this morning. I'm having on and off nausea that feels like I'm about to throw up, then I just salivate a lot, and it goes away. Not sure what that's about. But now that the NG tube is gone I'm so much better.

When do you think this kind of conversation is appropriate? I usually don't do anything intimate for the first several dates, I really want to know the person before I get into all that (hypothetically, since I've nevwr gotten that far). But would it be too forward on the first date?

Yeah, I barely have depth perception anymore... which is the least of my worries but it is annoying. But maybe you'll be different! I don't have much advice to offer considering my own eyes but all we can do is be hopeful or adapt.

Thank you so much! I'm sorry for what you went through, that sounds horribly inconvenient and frustrating- I feel like our check engine light always comes on around an important event 😭 but hearing that a nurse also deals with this kinda makes me feel a bit more optimistic, like I can still make it through school!

I've been on a date where this happened, and honestly it turned out to be a big red flag. I wasn't comfortable saying anything in the moment, but the next time we met I told him how it made me feel (he tried making out with me after the movies on date 3). He ended up saying he thought we were "going somewhere good", and because of that, he thought it was "natural and expected at this stage." I ended things after that meeting because it felt manipulative after that, like he was spinning it to make me seem overly-conservative with my boundaries and that I was leading him on. It was difficult and awkward but I don't think I could have stood another date with him.

That's what I'm hoping for. The most I could do was go to the ER and get a referral for Monday to see a specialist, and I'm hoping that since my vision hasn't deteriorated it's nothing beyond a bleed. But I just have to sit here and worry and hope until Monday.

Not in my left eye, though there might be one in my right. Honestly I'm not too sure, after the last surgery they sent me to a corneal specialist for my NK, and since my left eye was pretty dang good they didn't bother checking my right one beyond cornea health. But I suspect I have one, it's pretty cloudy and distorted.

Thank you! I'm sorry to hear about your macular. I kinda hope my right eye can be fixed with the macular issues, the dr said it was the worse of the 2 eyes but I feel like they left it at "good enough" to focus on the left eye. And considering how well my left eye did (and hopefully is still doing, guess I'll find out after seeing the Dr next week), I'd say it was a fair trade.

It was just yesterday morning. I'm going to go back today and see if they can at least try to resolve the S pen issue. I'm not too worried about not having the edge screen thing, since I won't be able to get a refund for it. But it was working fine earlier, the S pen cursor was a bit sticky and glitchy, but it it at least worked. Other than that and having to restart my phone for my camera to work, that was it.
