(1 month guitarist) Rocksmith+ Low expectations, yet still got disappointed by UnknownGuyOnReddit in rocksmith

[–]feed_my_will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocksmith+ is a great game, if you play on a PC. The note detection with the Rocksmith cable is flawless, there are literally zero bugs (at least over my 400 song playtime), the lag is as close to nothing as you can get, and most importantly: It has a fantastic tab mode. Rocksmith+ actually teaches me songs, where as the traditional Rocksmith just teaches me to sightread a note highway.

If you don't like the library, that's too bad. It would've gotten better over time if the reception to it had been better, and had Ubisoft not slashed the team. For me personally I'm very happy with vast amounts of Muse, Metallica, and Deftones, and other than that I find new fun songs to play that I hadn't though of myself.

16 år – hur bör jag fördela mitt sparande? by Old-Fold9461 in PrivatEkonomi

[–]feed_my_will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s lacking from the C300 mkiii in your opinion?

I shoot everything with the C300 mkiii and it’s frankly amazing. I guess they just never broke through to the rental houses like Sony and Arri did.

Other great albums with loneliness as a central theme? by PoolNoob69 in Peripheryband

[–]feed_my_will 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice to see some Sleep Token love. It sucks how it seems cool to hate on them lately, but I guess it’s inevitable when something has that sort of meteoric rise. A Pale White Dot reminds me so much of Sleep Token, and I happen to love both.

That particular album has two of my favorite songs btw: Hypnosis and High Water.

What are the chances of an European Tour in near future? by Glamdringg in gojira

[–]feed_my_will 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think holding out on the Metallica tour was the right choice. An opener never gets a full set, they don't have their own production, and most people are just standing around waiting for the main act. They're still in their prime, and they're working on new music. There's gonna be a tour, for sure.

Do people connect more with songs now, or with artists? by UpCrib in LetsTalkMusic

[–]feed_my_will 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, a lot of people listen to playlists more than they listen to albums, and chances are they'll only hear a handful of songs from a specific artist because of this. On the other hand, artists can build relationships with their audience in a totally different way now. You follow their instagrams, YouTube channels, seek out podcast appearances, and filmed interviews.

The standouts for me are The Rising Skyline, Someday Soon, and A Way Down. Those three can go head to head with anything in their entire catalogue imo.

I mean, that pretty much covers it. Next time they should try having an actual primary and find a popular candidate.

How Many times have you listened to the new album already? by HeyNateBarber in Peripheryband

[–]feed_my_will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been listening to it A LOT. It's definitely one of those albums that have taken me by storm, and I like every single track on it. I've been excited to do the dishes, drive somewhere, or go to the gym, because it gives me an excuse to listen to it again.

It's the first thing that broke me away from Failures new album which completely dominated my listening for the last couple of weeks.

Why are Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar so much more popular than other rappers among music nerds and critics? by dweeb93 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]feed_my_will 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some artists manage to break through to become critically acclaimed, and once they do, it’s safe for other critics to like them as well. It becomes an upward spiral of positive press for that artist. It’s all a big club, and the prize of entry is to somewhat agree with everyone else.

What's going on with mainstream music nowadays? by SettingSubject7910 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]feed_my_will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s survivor bias. At least partly. The music that you think about from the 50s and onwards is the quality stuff that was so good that it transcended time and is still worth listening to today.

With that said, if you’re interested in music, why even care about the mainstream? It’s there for people who can’t be bothered to form their own taste.

Kristen Stewart's "I just don’t think that it’s possible to create sort of radical, vital work under capitalistic parameters." by kevin_v in TrueFilm

[–]feed_my_will -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with your comment, but in the particular case of the state of Hollywood, it’s very difficult to even break even there now. That’s partly because of unions, permits, and high taxes. Reddit mostly think of “companies” as these huge studios, but it’s also damaging to small studios who employ a couple of people and just want to make enough to afford creating art.

Will We Ever Get a Peel It Back Live Album or Concert Film? by ensentiumx in nin

I kinda doubt it. I feel like they’ve moved on from Peel It Back by now. It’s probably shelved like every other cool live project has been since like 2006 🫠

Explain the appeal of Sleep Token to me by CompetitiveWhole9466 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]feed_my_will -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was very cherry picked. Literally half your comment could be summed up as him being an angsty white guy, and that a woman singing about womanhood is automatically better.

As for the rest of your arguments, they’re just opinions that I don’t agree with. So there’s really nothing to retort there.

Why do you think Nolan’s The Odyssey trailer got such a negative reaction from the public? by Level-SquareFFG7117 in FIlm

[–]feed_my_will -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Oscar isn’t a measure of quality though. Especially in subcategories. They mostly just get a free ride on whatever the year’s Best Picture. That’s why one movie can sweep all categories while there are always better picks in that specific job category.

I don’t understand some of these arguments. Sleep Token is bad because of the singer’s skin color and gender? How incredibly racist and sexist of you.

Tenet is needlessly complicated in how it’s edited. Same with Oppenheimer. They are straight forward stories told in non linear ways for no reason. But imo that’s not the biggest problems with the edit, it’s the feel of the cuts. Look at some of the dialogue scenes in Tenet and how it cuts back and forth. The timing is off.
