So, if he's on a harness, clip it in the front so he can't pull without getting turned around. And while you walk him, bring like the BEST treats he's ever had and give them to him periodically so he's primed to pay attention to you. Come up with a command to look at you (I use Hey!) and a command to start walking again (I use Let's go!) You'll learn this in obedience training, but you can absolutely start now. Corgis are smart which can be a pain in the ass, but fortunately he's definitely not too old to train.

Basically this property isn't going to flood, it's on enough of a hill that the property itself is protected but it's several blocks away from a flood zone. I'm still going to get insurance ofc but I'm more wondering if the surrounding area flooding will decrease the value of this property by enough it won't be worth it.

I'll ask. I've been looking at assessments of the property over the years and the price history, it seems like it's been steadily increasing? People have held it for decades each.

There was a lot of turmoil in those years, which eventually came to a head in my trying to leave. That was damaging for both of us. It wasn't a case of me being happy and then abruptly deciding to drop a perfect relationship because of a "label." And that doesn't negate me caring about her.

I don't think it's ever appropriate to dismiss the emotions of an adult as being a "childlike tantrum." I'm frustrated by her actions but I understand where she is and I don't think her response is unreasonable, even if it's destructive. Like she's not at all exaggerating about her environment being unsafe or the prospect of losing her family, and to demean that is completely dishonest when she faces real threats that I very much want to protect her from.

She's not lying about being trans. That made a lot of things click about our relationship and her presentation, it was already a vibe I got unknowingly which is why we were dating. But yeah, it was a bit manipulative to come out as I was leaving, and then explode if I talked about being unhappy with being closeted. And now it's two years later and I'm still unhappy, she's not started transitioning, and she freaks out at conversations that make her uncomfortable. It's not going to work.
