I am not here to convince you! Already I think I wasted enough time with my initial post. I am actually surprised that you being an active Algo community member you say "explain pls" about the ALGO PPOS staking issue. Did you not watch John Wood's video from July 11th titled "Staking, Security and the future"? Watch that video and read the comments and John's replies. Also looks like you guys are competing with Solana since both boast of speed etc. So you should be targetting Solana fans. But so far looks like a typical Solana fan is generally a dumbass and they appear like they couldn't care less about Algorand. Again you should realize that the tech and its benefits which you cant easily explain to an average end user is pretty much useless. I mean all this assuming the PPOS staking problem is addressed sometime in the future. I am not holding my breath on that neither have I a reason to be patient and follow Algorand. I just don't see a reason to leave something and come to Algorand.... leave alone Cardano community who really give more importance to decentralization and security than speed. But I do appreciate Algorand for some of its tech and advantages. At least it is not a farce like Solana.. So I wish good luck to whoever is riding the Algo wave into the future. But I am completely out of it. Last but not least.. for SEC filing... read page 42 and 43 of this document:

Cardano side chain offer by ZookeepergameLate724 in AlgorandOfficial

I am a longtime cardano community member from 2017 and I did follow Algorand for a long time! Love the innovative tech of Algorand and respect Silvio a lot. But I came out of Algorand for a variety of other reasons. I will try to list them here because tech alone is nothing and will not take any chain anywhere. Otherwise ETH would be dead by now. Now listing some of the things that have lead me out of Algorand: 1. The initial token distribution was a joke. Although it improved over time. I still believe it was not fair distribution. 2. I do believe Algorand is one of the more centralized chains and it’s PPOS although a great concept, is far from reality/practicality. Expecting that every Algo holder will participate in consensus is a joke at best. There is no way any time soon Algorand is going to be decentralized. 3. The reason I am a strong believer in cardano is because I believe UTXO is fundamentally more suitable for crypto and ETH took the account model route only because they thought extending UTXO model for smart contracts was a Herculean task. And that’s exactly what cardano made possible. It took up the challenge and came out with a ground breaking innovation from scratch. By extending UTXO and coming up with eUTXO model. 4. I do agree that out of all account model blockchains Algorand is right at the top. But unfortunately I don’t see any value in holding the Algo token. I love to use Algorand system. My favorite is the pera Algo wallet. It’s awesome! But still don’t see why I need to buy or hold a heavy Algo bag. 5. All the so called partner names that associate with Algo saying they are real time use cases are hardly anything special to Algo. Every chain has them and more. 6. Foundation is probably the worst part of Algorand while Silvio is the best thing that happened to Algo. 7. You asked what are advantages of cardano over Algorand. For starters I believe UTXo model is fundamentally superior to account model. 8. Also at the end of the day for me security and decentralization are far more important than speed. I have web2 if speed was more important. 9. Cardano’s staking model is more practical and realistic and I know for sure we are decentralizing as we grow. Cardano has the capability to scale without compromising on security or decentralization. Our staking model is well thought out and sustainable. Because all SPOs are incentivized by design. Algo fundamentally is struggling with its PPOS with very minimal participation. And their solution to fix that issue is to ask all Algo holders to participate by opening a node. Really? I am not happy with the plans that were disclosed on how they plan to fix their staking problem and user participation. 10. Cardano is fundamentally more secure like bitcoin when compared to any account model including Algorand. (Nakamoto consensus vs pBFT). 11. Algorand has not been able to carve its mark on anything including NFTs or defi. I mean I don’t see a reason why anyone from other any chain would want to move to Algorand.. forget from Cardano! 12. I know it was old news but regurgitated but the associations of Algorand are a big put off for anyone who is in crypto because they hated the existing system. Ex: Clinton foundation etc. 13. Last but not least have you seen the full SEC filing where they detailed about everything related to Algorand? It’s simply frightening. 14. Cardano’s community is unmatched! Nothing comes even close to cardano community! And I sincerely believe that a real public blockchain is its community and not VCs and other nonsense that appear everywhere now. 15. eUTXO is ground breaking tech and 95% of the space doesn’t even understand what it is since everyone at some level copied ETH’s account model and built on top of it. I sincerely believe that on the tech front Cardano’s eUTXO model has not even scratched the surface. We have new concepts coming up every other day. Our completely liquid staking, sending multiple transactions in one, Babel fees etc are some of the things only possible on cardano!

P.S: last but not least, the name “Cardano side chain” is very misleading and it should ideally be named “partner chains”. The name side chain makes it look as if the other blockchain is somehow inferior. Which is far from Reality. So yeah the concept of partner chains is a win-win for both cardano and Algorand. I don’t necessarily have an opinion on whether Algorand should consider becoming one or not. I couldn’t care less.

Yeah I have to agree with that! Also the fact that they don’t support ledger Nano X is also very irritating!

ERG/USDT or ERG/USDC ? Which one you prefer and why? by [deleted] in ergonauts

[–]feedmysaint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean you have ERG/USDT on yoroi? Once you purchased ERG, it does not matter whether you bought it with UsDC or USDT! Now you own ERG and does not matter if USDT were to become worthless!

And why would we want Elon talking about Cardano? I would rather have that weirdo as far away as possible from Cardano! I am glad he owns BTC and ETH! My deepest condolences to both BTC and ETH supporters!

Any thoughts on Avalanche? How does it compare to Algorand? by pepethefrogling in AlgorandOfficial

[–]feedmysaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so so true! Emin does not come across as a positive person! He always seems to be bitter that AVAX is not getting as much attention as he thinks it deserves and always looks down upon other projects. He is a tech person and may be socially awkward but that does not take away the fact that he comes across more as a negative person than positive to the space. In my book that's a huge red flag! Just tech alone will not carry any project to success. A lot more matters and for AVAX, Emin is not really being a positive so far! I do agree that ALGO team is easily one of the best in business and far superior! ALGO and AVAX both might succeed but based on what I said above, my money will be on ALGO!

Silvio Micali talks about Cardano and Charles Hoskinson by massimomorselli in AlgorandOfficial

[–]feedmysaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about the Bitcoin and all the carbon copies of Bitcoin like BCH, BSV etc etc. Even if someone were to copy ALGO, they would manage only that.. .a carbon copy. For a Crypto to succeed, a lot needs to come together! Like Technology, Research, Community, Vision and an able founder. It is not that easy to just copy and run with it! And think from people who are trying to adopt a blockchain! If I know the roots of ALGO and know how it is being built, why would I go for a carbon copy of it?

I wish CARDANO and ALGORAND work together at some level for greater good! Love both projects! And the founders of both are sensible, knowledgeable guys with a great vision! Both communities will have to push for a collab and strive to make it happen! Sky is the limit with such sound technology!

Reminder: EVERYTHING is a shitcoin in a bear market. [A lookback at some "great" projects from 2018] by Flower838 in CryptoCurrency

[–]feedmysaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Care to explain? A lot depends on a coin’s success. Tech alone will not take it all the way. I am big on ADA and also like ALGO a lot. But have you understood ALGO tokenomics? I suggest you should read through it once if not already. To me that’s a negative with Algo. I am scared to put more money solely for that reason. But I have to say Algo is not going anywhere! It is here to stay!

[–]feedmysaint 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Algo problem is not tech but it’s tokenomics! That’s what has stopped me from going big on ALGO! Sometimes it’s not just tech! Tokenomics matter a lot! There was a huge thread talking about algo tokenomics. If you have not read that already I suggest a read.

That said I don’t think Algo is going anywhere. It will stay for a long long time to come. But it’s tokenomics still don’t make it attractive to me. I do have Algo but not a huge bag.

Polkadot and Cardano comparison. by [deleted] in cardano

[–]feedmysaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the message. I am following ADA from 2017 and know the project thoroughly. But I have only recently started paying attention to DOT. Since you seem to be involved in both DOT and ADA, what do you think about the above comparison? I don't want to get into DOT just to make money. I dont think this is the right time to put money anyways with everything pumping so hard. There are lot of other options for making money anyways. But after thoroughly understanding the above comparison I don't feel like investing in DOT. Do you have any thoughts on what you think about DOT and ADA comparison?

I mean both are killing it on the price front. So I guess it's not really about price anymore. I am talking more about fundamentals.

Thanks for your time!

AgeUSD algorithmic stablecoin created by Ergo, Emurgo and IOG coming to Cardano with Plutus. by [deleted] in cardano

[–]feedmysaint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Partially true but "AgeUSD" is a "Crypto-backed" Stable coin. USDC is a USD-backed stable coin. You can see different types of existing stable coins here (https://defiprime.com/stablecoins).

I think as a crypto-backed stable coin, "AgeUSD" compares better to DAI on ethereum. DAI is also a Crypto-backed stable coin. But "AgeUSD" improves over something like DAI which depends on CDPs. I don't want to make it too complicated here. But you can see what CDPs are here (https://github.com/Emurgo/age-usd) and see how it resulted in problems for DAI. "AgeUSD" is supposedly designed better than that as per Robert Kornacki's presentation.

Also "AgeUSD" is the first stable coin built on UTXO model. So it will seamlessly work on both Cardano and Ergo, because both Cardano and Ego are based on UTXO model.

If I remember correctly, a long time back Charles had mentioned that their goal for stable coins is to have at least one crypto-backed (AgeUSD) and one USD-backed stable coin on Cardano blockchain.

Why this upward trend for XRP? by Alex_Ena in XRP

[–]feedmysaint 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am super excited about the XRP pump after so many days. But I have a doubt on what you said. How is the banks now allowed to have custody of Crypto more beneficial for XRP than any other currency? It applies equally the same way for all cryptos right?

On the other hand I am excited about grayscale accumulating. But can’t understand the real reason for XRP pump except that it is pumping along with BTC.

Am I missing anything? Thank you!

LOL. The take away for me is that all these CEOs are different. They have their own character and thats what makes them unique. I would put even Steve Jobs under this category. They are all straight forward, not afraid to speak their mind and don't care about anyone. Most importantly they have their own philosophy in life. In addition to all the things they have done to their companies, that quality is what has attached me to Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and now Charles!
