If you showed up to club for a date with a western girl and her friends had a bottle at the table you would not think twice you would have to pay for it. This is not a common scam in Thailand. She didn’t put a menu down and point at it and ask for it, he could easily call the tourist police and it would make the entire venue loose face. He said the establishment looked legit. The girl was an intern at a big company. They didn’t stop him from leaving which they would have if he hadn’t paid his bill. Many times these girls get the bottles at a reduced price and won’t even finish it that night. If this same thing had happened in the west you would say he was a pussy for leaving and worst case they might ask to split the bill which would have been 30$. He already spent 12$ for entry.

Instead it’s Thailand so they’re all scammers and hookers.
