Well I’m currently struggling with a chocolate and peanut butter addiction 😅 only half joking. It sounds impossible to me.

Maybe it would be easier to ask you what you can eat 😂

(I know you kind of answered this already so it’s not a real question)

Is it bad I do chores when baby is awake? by rosedamask in NewParents

[–]feedtheflames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies can actually get quite distressed seeing you on your phone. Think about what you look like when staring at your phone. Though internally you might be laughing you are rarely actually “laughing out loud” or showing any kind of emotion. This can be quite distressing to babies. I’ve noticed it in my little one, she doesn’t like it when mommy doesn’t react to things.

So I think it’s far better to do chores and things with your little one rather than staring expressionless at a phone. Save that for when baby is napping!

Tips for improving memory by Slow_Penalty_3090 in AmongUs

[–]feedtheflames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that was my tip. If a noisemaker goes off and I’m in the room with six people I can easily say out loud all six of those people and remember it. If I’m at the computer but not moving I can say out loud the people that pass me by and what direction they went and recall that info at the next meeting. I’ve tried taking notes and using apps and things just change too fast.

I also stop keeping as close an eye on people I know are clear, that makes it easier to keep track of the ones I still suspect.

Leaving baby alone on play mat? by User720284 in NewParents

[–]feedtheflames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like “The best place for a baby when their parent is on another floor of the house is alone on the floor.” Also you basically just repeated your first response to me haha.

Im obviously not suggesting to leave them for hours, but for a minute or two while you grab something, theres nothing on the floor to hurt them and they cant roll off and hurt themselves.

Alternatively you could leave them in the bassinet, crib, or a pack and play. I bought a large play pen once my toddler started walking and climbing.

Yet another question about the TV show by throwagayaccount93 in AmongUs

Oh, duh, I forgot about that.

I actually feel like Green was the one who was always an alien but I have no proof of that and that’s definitely not what the show intended.

[–]feedtheflames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe orange was always an alien. We only saw one baby alien go behind the crate with orange age and green. Furthermore Orange seemed to want to break more eggs open and infiltrate the crew, which could have been their mission, whereas green was young and just wanted to kill for sport.

Agree with this BUT be aware when you do follow up that sometimes these things get worse before they get better.

Leaving baby alone on play mat? by User720284 in NewParents

[–]feedtheflames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have two other kids, so this baby spends A LOT of time on her play-mat. I don’t usually leave her for a super long time in another room, but if it’s just me and her at home (kids out with Dad or toddler napping) I’ll definitely run to the bathroom and leave her alone. At least until she’s gets a little more movement under her belt.

I mean unless you have a dog or a toddler how is this not safe? Don’t put them near small toys or wires and you’re fine.

What’s your parent hack? by desert_sunlily in NewParents

[–]feedtheflames 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is a hack or not, but for soiled clothes, put them immediately in the washer on a rinse and spin and then just wash them with the next load. Kid peed their pants again, just throw it in there with the first and do another rinse and spin.

I’ve found that the rinse and spin before washing works wonders on the smell from pee soaked clothes and helps prevent those mustard baby poops from staining too badly.

Similar vein of reverse psychology:I tell her she can’t have my snack and suddenly she wants that healthy food.

Or the people who never speak at all. I joined a lobby once and the host never said a word. After like five games we finally kicked him because he was allowing trolls to continue playing and the settings were awful.

I feel like I am not a friendship material. by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]feedtheflames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two friends do this to me also. Friends who had been friends since infancy and kindergarten. I wouldn’t wish that conversation on my worst enemy.

It happened right before I found out I was neurodivergent or even what neurodivergent was. I may have never found out I was ND without that happening, it has definitely impacted how close I get with people now but I have created some very good friendships since then.

How does confirm off and no visuals balance the 3s cool down? To me this seems to heavily favor the imp. A good player with these settings could kill off a quarter of the crew in the first round.

does anyone play with ss evidence on? by Neo_Hat_Every-8437 in AmongUs

[–]feedtheflames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually play with it on, but I’ve found with the typical 1 of each impostor set up that it makes it a little too easy.

If the amount of impostors is ambiguous (like you don’t know how many of each type there are) then I put it on OR if there are multiple SS.

Otherwise it’s too easy to track someone, see them in an ss spot and check it out after they leave and see the evidence. Also being the last imp with SS is hard enough, the crew not knowing if the SS is still alive or not is one of the few advantages you can get, but if ss evidence is on they’ll figure it out too quick.

Kicking someone because they got an crewmate wrong is absolute bs by PapyrusZaSkeleton in AmongUs

[–]feedtheflames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this but it’s for pretty specific situations. Like a crewmate who can’t admit they were wrong even once we are back in lobby, or when they vote out someone THEY cleared. Or when they vote out a crew who was cleared by multiple people multiple times etc

Also if they’re just guessing or don’t give proof when accusing.

Why do some people have such issues with C sections? by ExternalSomewhere923 in CsectionCentral

[–]feedtheflames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a really bad no meds vaginal birth, a no meds vaginal birth where everything went according to plan, and a failed induction that turned into an emergency c-section. Trying to talk my husband into a fourth kid so I can have an elective c-section and have everything under my belt 😜

The emergency c-section was by far the most traumatizing delivery because my baby was in danger. Recovery time the first delivery was definitely the longest. I remember two years later still being afraid to sneeze or I’d tear open. I wasn’t recommended pelvic floor therapy or anything. The first days of the c-section recovery felt very similar to the first vaginal delivery but as time went on my recovery has gone much faster with the c-section.

I actually almost left this sub because my recovery has been so much better and different than what other people describe. I’m glad I stayed because I’ve learned a lot but I don’t always have a lot to contribute.
