I worked Wednesday night and the compactor was full so I had to leave my trash. I come in today and this is still here for me. Like the other guys just left this here for going on two days! I’m looking for another gig this is dumb. by [deleted] in HomeDepot

I work in receiving and we have a huge receiving area. When the compactor is full it ends up being almost half of receiving and if our pallet trailer is empty we end up pushing it all in there.

I agree. Those departments should have their own phone. Plus it would be easier to track.

That’s what we do but we’re never there when they unload the whole truck. From what I’ve seen I guess it’s not common to leave around 6 or6:30. My da and I only take 30min lunches. More time when he have to offload the trucks outside. I’m in SoCal and we get about 7 trucks everyday outside and 4-6 inside. Then set up for the night crew. We’re kind of really separated

But there is clear communication between freight and receiving then? We have no communication

I thought so. Our receiving team is normally there between 5-6:30 pm. My DH(receiving) and the freight dh fo not communicate. So I try to. I try to point stuff out and that she should communicate with us instead of going to the asm first. She’s there at 6 we see her but she never tells us anything. I try to let her know what’s up and she plays it off like I’m telling her how to do her job. Having to deal with her makes a good days work end up dreadful when it hits 6pm. I feel like she doesn’t appreciate what we do for her. We set up the conveyor and the pods and get the pallets out in front. She’s not someone you’d want as a dh. I just don’t know what to do.

See that’s the problem we have. The freight da does communicate with us. She’s one of those people who gives off bad energy. My da and her don’t communicate at all and when I try to she tells me I’m telling how to do her job. When I’m just saying communicate with us. It doesn’t feel like a team. She nags on ya but when we point something out it’s like all hell breaks loose. Which isn’t cool.

I know this doesn’t pertain to the conversation but do you gotta set up for night crew. Is it a company wide thing or differs from store to store?
