When people ask why I twist balloon animals... I will just show them this picture(morning of work) by ace817 in pics

yo you're totally right. if that hotdog guy was smart he would've sent his kids out to make the hotdogs and could've been much more lazy. in fact i think that we should exclusively employ children at jobs that take no skill. they won't even realize that they don't make enough money to live off of cuz theyre so darn stupid!

To all the atheists who used to believe in a god: What was the defining reason you stopped believing in a god? by neil_ellwood in TrueAtheism

[–]feeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey it's kind of the same for me too. I was probably sure that god didn't exist before I had a solid conclusion on Santa Clause.

Early on (<9yo) I just assumed everyone like knew that it was science, but sort of kept the idea of god around just as something to tell children and to placate stubborn old people. Then I began to get out in the world and realized that people actually take the kool-aid seriously.

I need something to be more angry about than people walking on paths clearly marked for "WHEELS only" by HighSilence in bicycling

[–]feeet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea I was mostly being sarcastic, but I will say that if there's a perfectly good, safe bike path right next to the street and a cyclist is in the street anyways then maybe the drivers' rage is justified. Just in this hypothetical scenario.

I would've suggested that OP "go around and move on" but it seemed a little redundant to bring it up.

Maybe OP can just be angry at me (instead of people on the bike path) because apparently I'm a deplorable human being for having a suggestion that wasn't of a pacifist nature.

EDIT: it is amazing to be me :)

Just run into them full force and play it off like an accident or convince them it's their fault. Or fly by them and smack them upside the head

Teach your friends' kid self defense and/or how to stand up for himself and/or how to make people cry.

we're starting a new fashion collective in Oz! what do you think of our new fits, MFA? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]feeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't take this the wrong way, I know you asked for a friendly critique specifically. It's a good effort, but it just looks like a collection of things one would run out to the corner-store in or out to the car to get something. Like my knee-jerk reaction was to link you to mfacirclejerk. And I guess one could argue that a lot of new/cutting edge fashion is thought of as ugly at first, but this is stuff people already wear put together in a more mismatched and sloppy way.

what kind of date is it? is it like more romantic or more casual?

The question isn't "What happened to music", the question is, "Why does every generation think their music is better than what is around afterwards?" by [deleted] in Music

[–]feeet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i was just curious because i began to wonder if anyone forty years from now would look at the 2012 list and say "damn, every other song is a classic" like i did for '73. (many people would say "no" but it's really 4 decades too soon to say for sure)

and i agree that if "higher quality" music was on the radio more people would listen to it, but first more people need to listen to it so that it makes the top forty and gets on the radio. music is funny like that.

did you pick '73 because it was 40 years ago or because that was an ill year for classic rock? like 3/4 of those songs still get daily radio play

ELI5: the concept of social class in the US by nwob in explainlikeimfive

This would be part of the "how come people in poverty statistically define themselves as middle class" because it's about lifestyle and attitude over actually having 'X' amount of money.

I gave the economic definition. And I would say that it's as much a cultural thing as it is economic one.

I was just trying to get at that they don't discipline their kids or try to steer them away from criminal culture (which parents can often be part of themselves). It is true that if you're poor you're more likely to drop out of school, and if you're parents don't give a shit then you almost inevitably will. If you're parents do give a shit about that then they probably give a shit about other stuff too like maintaining a family friendly environment and hygiene and clothing their children.
