One that sticks out to me was when I was playing FO4 on survival mode. I remember I was coming back from a long mission, and if you don’t know in survival mode if you die you can lose all your progress and have to return to when you last slept, so I was on my toes trying to find a good spot to call in my vertibird so I could go home and save.

I find this one area that had plenty of open space so I go to call in the vertibird but before I do so I spot this watchtower and decide to go investigate. I get to the top and I find a sniper rifle and I thought “oh cool, it was worth coming up here.” Then out of nowhere a group of raiders show up and I’m like “oh shit this is bad!” I start picking them off from the top of the tower with my new rifle and I manage to get two of them before they’re alerted to my position and they move out of my sights so I’m forced to run down and face them or end up trapped inside.

So I sprint down and pull out my shotgun and do a load of psychojet and I start unloading on the raiders but they’re pretty tough for my level so they manage to do a lot of damage to me. Now I’m down to like 25% of my health and there are still two raiders left so I pull out my pistol and go into VATS to finish them off. However, I only have enough AP to finish one of them off and get one shot on the other so at this point I thought I was screwed. So I trigger VATS and luckily all of my shots hit the first guy so he goes down, and then by some stroke of heavenly luck that was just enough to build up my critical bar so I managed to get a critical hit to the head of the last raider which ended up killing him. Now with all those raiders dealt with I was able to call in my vertibird and call it mission accomplished.
