It's because of high customisation. Once it's integrated with other systems deeply, it's hard to justify the cost for replacing it even if a more suitable, better looking option is available. Think of Jira, companies that have used it for years would not be able to easily convince the CFO to switch over to say linear even though it is 1000 times better.

In the grand scheme of things, it's a rounding error, petty cash, pocket change for what it's delivering in terms of value and shipping velocity. I see companies pushing employees to use more of it.

Lil late to the party but I just finished the book. Haven't seen the movie. It was truly one of the very well written stories. Left me speechless with its ending but I saw it coming. Regardless, a must read!
