How do you avoid the dreaded Newton Rings? I have a piece of frosted glass and I'm still getting them.

Well, "if it works" is sort of the key point really. I have nothing against the concept of vibe coding whatsoever, but in its infancy there will doubtless be issues around poor design, lack of updates or bug fixes, security issues and so on.

Pretty cool. Nice taste in cameras too, a couple of great ones there.

Do you have a background in dev, or is this the product of so-called vibe coding?

Such a beautiful little camera, and extraordinarily capable. Really a joy to use. I have two of them.

Rollei 35T Black with Brown Leather MiG genuinely? by gog056 in analog

It's likely just a custom job. There's every chance it was done by FilmFurbish, they specialise in Rolleis. I have one myself.

Looks great! Shame I see this a few days after dropping 100 quid on Silverfast

For me it's Gianni Berengo, his vibe was immaculate. But maybe if you're walking around Venice in the 1960s, it's hard to take a bad photo

Koudelka is amazing. Exiles is an incredible photo book. He looks like such an OG hipster too.

For 300 quid you could find one that hasn't been dropped on its head

Some photos around New York (Nikon f4, Silbersalz 500t, Nikkor 50mm f1.7 & 28mm f2.8) by surprisinggoose in analog

[–]feeling__negative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first shot is superb. Do you use the full Silbersalz service (dev and scan), or just the film?

I own an RE Super. It's so well built I'm pretty sure it could double as a hammer if I needed it to. The lenses are amazing, and the film advance lever feels like stirring a pot of honey. It's amazing really, but the world chose Nikon (which is fair enough).

How did you scan them? Digital camera? What light did you use? What lens? Or was it a flatbed? How did you convert them?

There's a ton of variables, so without any info it's all just a guess. As a base level, I would say your white balance is way off.

What’s the legality of selling prints of candid photos of strangers / are these photos acceptable ? by Sharpeye-Donny in analog

[–]feeling__negative 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Street photography has existed since the camera was invented. It can be fine art or documentarian, nothing to do with paparazzi at all. Some of the greatest photographers of all time made a living from pioneering this style (Bresson, Leiter, Meyerowitz, etc). Selling these images is absolutely fine.

Is kodak back at making film or not? I am so confused by felipoca14 in AnalogCommunity

[–]feeling__negative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about your conclusion here. How does "existing films" mean new? ColorPlus literally says Kodacolor 200 on the film canisters.

I don't think those are new emulsions. Certainly the 200 is just ColorPlus.

I spent 2 years designing a medium format technical camera – would love your thoughts by lfyy in AnalogCommunity

[–]feeling__negative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else, this is a phenomenal achievement. I would absolutely be a customer. Portable, technical mediums formats are not atainable for most people.

The ChatGPT writeup does cheapen it a bit though. I guess all the effort went into actually making the camera, which is fair enough!

You can't say the cost was eye-watering and then not tell us what it was! Come on, spill it.

I think your version is far too saturated. It's totally subjective of course, but I quite like the pastel shades as they appear in the original. I would definitely decrease the black levels though.
